What do you collect?

  • se-alum
My brother and I have gotten into collecting old Pepsi and Coke memorabilia. We've bought a couple machines, and some signs so far.

NASCAR Memorabilia. Favorite piece would be a tire that came off Kyle Busch's car during the first Kentucky race.

    Heyy-o!

I use to collect cards when i was younger, who knows where they are now. My mom kept so much of my stuff from when i was younger so she probably has them stuffed away somewhere.

Hang onto them. Markets for memorabilia (including cards) tend to trend high and low. It's low now, but when it's up, those cards might be worth some decent scratch. I'm saving my baseball cards for just such a time.

A table out of tires? I mean. A table out of tires? How do you walk away from a NASCAR event carrying a fucking tire? How does one acquire a fucking tire?

Or punched someone in the face and rolled the tire down a hill to where his vehicle was.
  • O-Trap

Or maybe he was rolling down the hill, timing his mile, and caught up with the tire?

It was free. Figure up that they do typically around 4 pit stops a race. Including the original 4 tires, that's 20 tires each team goes through in one race. There are 43 cars on the track, so that's 860 tires NASCAR goes through in one race. After 36 races, that's almost 31,000 tires a year. Granted, not all 43 cars finish the entire race or take 4 tires on each pit stop, so that number is off by a few thousand I'm sure, but you get the idea. It's not hard getting a tire from a car. Most teams just give them away.

Interesting. If I still gave a shit about NASCAR I'd probably try to get one.

I have around 250,000 baseball/football cards (90% baseball) from the 50's-current but probably only about 5,000 cards in the last 15 years.
