You gotta feel for the guy. Non-compete clause sucks.

    I'm done with the Fan

I still dont think it's that big of a deal. The Torg is a fat slob and at times he can be annoying, but I dont think he should have been fired for that.
  • gerb131
Damn. That's some bs. Sucks Herbie can have that much pull.
  • pmoney25
97.1 getting crushed on Facebook by the fans. Also the save the torg fan page already blowing past the fan page in likes.

no you dont. he signed the contract.
  • End of Line
Yeah, Herby has his hands all over this with out a doubt. I hope he's happy that he got someone fired.

    Boycott officially began at midnight
  • Midstate01
I always take my walk with my daughter along Pearl Harbor when the show is on. Guess ill listen to pandora or local espn radio.
  • sportchampps
Save the Torg already has more likes then 97.1
  • TedSheckler
They should move Beau Bishop to take Torg's spot.
  • jordo212000
Torg's lawyer says that they are exploring Herbsreit's role in his dismissal

Well, I feel for him. And just because he signed the contract takes nothing away from the non-compete clause being shitty.

it's only in Columbus, and what other Sports-Talk in Cbus is there?

Getting lawyers involved will essentially slam the door on the 1% chance he had to get back on the network. About the only thing he can hope for is them to waive his non-compete clause, and perhaps get some severance.

I haven't been following this, but is this all because he jokingly said something about a Michigan player dying?

FORMER player. Desmond Howard. ESPN analyst now.

Lol they fucking FIRED him for that? That's incredibly harsh. I think a boycott is in order if you're a columbusian.

It was the second highest rated sports talk show in the nation. Herbie is behind him being fired.

I will not listen to 97.1 anymore. Tonight instead of listening to the game on my drive home I listened to music and turned the game on once I was home. There are other options out there.
  • said_aouita
Channel 1410 WING AM pretty sure is out of Dayton. It's still ESPN radio.
An option maybe for some of ya.
  • sportchampps
The worst part of this is all the things he offered to do and they still fired him. He was on a show on Cleveland today talking about it. It's just terrible.

i dont get how people think herbie got him fired...he doesnt run 97.1. obviously herbstreet is going to stick up for howard who he works with on a weekly basis, but i doubt he has the power to have someone fired. i could be wrong tho

You are. Herbie has a lot of pull in Columbus, I'd imagine.

    He's also a giant cocksucker

he doesnt even live here anymore right?? didnt he get run out of town by hecklers?? what do you mean by "pull"? pull with who?
