Coolest Venue You Have Been To For A Concert?

  • se-alum
Next month I am going to the Ryman Auditorium to see a concert. As a country music fan, it's going to be very surreal. What's the coolest venue you've been to for a concert?

I don't know about coolest but I've been able to see my two favorite musicians in very small venues. Saw Shooter Jennings at the Southgate House and The Madison Theater in Kentucky. Then saw Leroy Powell at some podunk white trash bar in Columbus and actually got to talk to him for a while. Actually met up with SVF for that show. He did not bring his kids.

I've been to the big ones around and they are all good but one smaller one stood out.

I took my wife to see Martina McBride at Vet's Memorial in Columbus and it was pretty much an hour and a half of solid goosebumps....incredible sound

Altar Bar in Pittsburgh is pretty neat. It's an old church.

Always been a fan of the Newport.

Been to the big ones around Columbus. Newport is cool. I do enjoy the small bars. Those are always the best shows.

I've been to a lot, but nothing sticks out as the "coolest." Red Rocks in Denver is on my list....gotta see that place.

Pick6, jambo is a blast. Just gotta get drunk enough where you don't care about how disgusting the Porta John's are.

It was my 10th, and the worst lineup ever. I don't really care for the music anyway, I'm there for the party.

for sure. I dont even remember seeing Brooks & Dunn play during their farewell tour. Wake up at 6 for redneck run, sleep a few hours, start drinking at noon, go to the concert, come back and party til about 4am, do it all over again.

    I've never once met Jordo.

BTW, small venues > large ones.

Once a month, Hard Rock hotel lobby transforms into 'Velvet Sessions' concert.
Jeff Healey was rained out & moved inside Hard Rock Cafe one night. Danced right in front of the stage with my girl.
House of Blues on New Year's Eve with Alter Bridge, a handful of pro wrasslers, and Johnny Damon.

Heart, Huey Lewis & the News, Cheap Trick, The Fixx, plenty more at the bandshell.

I honestly don't believe it. Might as well say Wes and Fab have never met.

Nice trololfail, as usual. There was a small dance floor. Lots of people danced. We scored great seats after being rain-delayed. Everyone who stayed made it a great show, the band played great and sounded great. Made the venue extra cool.

David Gilmour at Cleveland Public Hall, 1984. Place had great acoustics for his style.
