Winterizing yet

  • Belly35
We started the process of winterizing yesterday.</SPAN>

Wife put on the winter blanket on our bed yesterday</SPAN>
I lowered the storm windows and took out the window fan</SPAN>
She switched out the closet moving the summer cloths to the spare bedroom and moving the winter cloths to the main bedroom</SPAN>
Brought up the Eden Pure Heater to the backroom (all glass room, get a little cool in the winter needs help heating it up) Eden Pure is worth the money</SPAN>
Dug out the boots and winter coats put in the hallway closet</SPAN>
    Found the ice scrapers</SPAN>
Picked up 400 pound of salt for the back of my truck</SPAN>
    Preparing the lasagna garden soil</SPAN>
Just to name a few things.</SPAN>

What are some of your winterizing task? </SPAN>

What is the one winterizing task you hate? </SPAN>
For me it putting the patio set (6 chairs, big metal table with granite top and umbrella) away .. never fits back where it was last year </SPAN>

Isn't your truck 4wd? I'd stack the salt bags in the garage until at least mid November.

I hope he doesn't have them in there yet. It does just say he picked them up.

The garden is turned over and fertilized. Apples are put up. Freezer is full. Windows covered with plastic. Closed off extra bedroom and vent. That is all I have done so far. Need to pull some insulation off of my furnace ducts and put new on.

My jeep is a 4Wd but my truck is not.

I use the truck for more travel to and fro to Chicago or Detroit and short weekend trip with the wife who away buys something larger that can fit in a car or jeep. The ride is better and with the crew cab the grandkids can come along.

I buy water softener salt that way when winter is over I can use it in the softener. I just picked it up haven't placed it in the back of the truck yet. I put the bags on a large Rubber Maid container to keep it dry, just in front of the rear wheels. I&#8217;m going to get another 100 pound for a total of 500 pounds</SPAN>

This thread was started 10/10/12, but for some reason Monty bumped it--go figure.

Good catch. I'm too retarded to look at dates.

Took me a few minutes to catch on to that, too. Probably because it's easy to imagine Belly starting to prep for the winter during the middle of summer.

Last week I started making plans to swap-out my fireplace woodburner insert with a wood pellet stove next summer.

    Does that count?

Sounds like you are stereotyping him based on various forms of bias and prejudice possibly. :)

preparing no .... Making better for preparing yes.
I'm building a new firewood rack outside 5ft wide x 16 ft length x 5 ft height maybe some type of a removable cover.
Thinking about a new shed 12x20 with a loft area.

Same. I was thinking the first week of August was a little early to think be preparing for winter, but Belly gonna Belly. I'm sure the 2017 edition of this thread was coming sometime this month anyways.

Only people who eat Vicks Vapor Rub would start "winterizing" a week after July.
