Finally Rush is up for nomination. The fact they aren't already in is a travesty. Other notable First time Nominees

This might not be a popular opinion with some but KISS should also be in there. They aren't the greatest musicians but the influence they had on a ton of bands is notable. Pretty sure Gene Simmons screwed any shot they ever have of getting in though.

Rush should've been in long ago.

that place lost all credibility long ago with the artists that are in and bands like Rush and Kiss that are not.
Football HoF has been going the same direction. Some are in and just don't deserve it while others are left out.

Why is NWA in this discussion?

Madonna is also in the HOF too if I'm correct. Does she belong? Not sure she's exactly "rock & roll".

music hof in general is pretty stupid if you think about it. Its completely subjective. I disagree about Kiss, they're terrible.

Well I agree, I am not a KISS fan either. I hate their music, but even I can agree they belong in the HoF.

Rush and Deep Purple definitely should be in.

Not "rock and roll", but I can definitely agree with Public Enemy, too.

Obviously with the additions of artists like the Beastie Boys, Neil Diamond, Grandmaster Flash, Madonna, and Run DMC, they've gone away from the "Rock & Roll" part and have just been a music Hall Of Fame.

Rush, Deep Purple, Heart, Public Enemy, Chic, and Kraftwerk should be in from this years list, IMO.

While I am not a RAP fan and RAP is not Rock and Roll but for what the HOF actually is now. NWA did usher in a new era of music that ended up along with Grunge dominating the 90's music scene.

Also Straight outta compton is pretty bad ass regardless of your taste in music especially when Ice Cube starts the song off.

Rap is not even music. Put that sh!t in the cRAP HoF. ROCK AND ROLL takes talent to play an instrument. KISS was extremely popular and successful in their generation. I only like a few of their tunes, but you can't deny they were superstars. Neal Peart is the greatest percussionist of all time, RUSH is still successful and popular world wide. HEART isn't in already? WTF? SCORPIONS ?!? They really should change the name of that museum to 'generic music HoF'. I just glanced at some inductees lists, and in second year they jumped the shark. There's more MOTOWN groups in there than ROCK N ROLL artists. They must be running out of old Motown artists and now turning to rap. NWA, what a joke. I'll be enjoying some great live Rockin' Blues tonight and all weekend. http://annualdaytonabluesfestival.com/

Growing up it all seems so one-sided
    Opinions all provided
    The future pre-decided
    Detached and subdivided
    In the mass production zone
    In the high school halls
    In the shopping malls
    Conform or be cast out
