30 for 30 - Broke
-
BORIStheCrusherLooking forward to this, anybody plan on watching.
Broke(Billy Corben)
Broke explores the roads to fortune in American sports and eventually, the many detours to bankruptcy. Bernie Kosar, Andre Rison and Cliff Floyd are among the athletes who talk openly about the challenges of managing their money in an era when big contracts don’t necessarily support bigger lifestyles. Sucked into bad investments, stalked by freeloaders and saddled with medical problems, many pro athletes get shocked by harsh economic realities after years of living the high life. A story of the dark side of success, Broke is an allegory for the financial woes haunting economies and individuals all over the world. -

xKoToVxSyNdRoMeWatching right now, definitely looking forward to the future episode as well. This series is one of the best things ESPN does.
-
Steel Valley FootballI'm def interested in Kosar's plight, no only because he's a local guy but because he's very intelligent and seemed to be very business savvy.
Anyone know when the Clarett one is on? I'm hoping to see myself on the sidelines at the Warren games lol. -
Fab1bThought this was very good!
Next week is 9.79 Ben Johnson and the 88 Olympic 100 -
BORIStheCrusherThought it was pretty good. It's amazing how fast some of the athletes plow through millions of dollars, and that some were living paycheck to paycheck because of their spending.

This one is going to be good. I heard Johnson won like a 3 million dollar lawsuit over his so-called failed test.said_aouita;1286015 wrote:Very much looking forward to "9.79" coming next week.

He was dirty. He failed multiple tests over the years.Devilone;1286019 wrote:This one is going to be good. I heard Johnson won like a 3 million dollar lawsuit over his so-called failed test.
He has a lawsuit against the estate of his former lawyer for unauthorized payments.
Can still remember the Olympic race where he ran 9.79. Remember thinking at the time, "nobody will ever run that fast again"
The Olympic committee had to change the rules for reaction time because Johnson was so fast out of the blocks. They showed Ben in slow motion where he'd lift both hands off the track then explode out of the blocks.
(start at 3:40. Talks about his start)
