Ads are back, sort of...

queencitybuckeyeIt seems to me that those not actively interested in the rules being confusing aren't confused by them.

That was due more to the relaxed rules. There wasn't a no sexual content rule then. It was just no pornography.mcburg93;1285436 wrote:Worked out well here didnt it? Lost adsense cause of common sense. -

Not a bad idea. I'm going to look in to this. I'll post something for us to discuss in the mod forum.O-Trap;1285426 wrote:Actually, this would probably not be a bad idea. Rules out adult content, how-to topics on illegal activity, possibly excessive profanity (but I don't recall for sure on that one, and it's subjective), requests to click the ads, hate speech, etc.
Then, leave the personal attack rule, the revealing identity rule, and the repeated attempt to derail rule. That would ideally shore up just about everything. -
O-TrapWe could just link to AdSense's rules regarding content in our own rules and require that people agree to not violate them here. Wouldn't necessarily need to copy/paste them here.

Don't forget the C4F rules in which you have to debate in a certain way and don't you ever give any facts that are positive about Notre Dame.mcburg93;1285399 wrote:You have said no half naked women but there are no rules about it. You want people to ease up on saying certain words but again no rules. I dont care on how many infractions or warnings you hand out its none of my business. If you want to keep adsense you might want to make the rules clearer so people understand why you dont want them posting half naked women or saying f*** you you a******. I dont break many rules, but think it might be a good thing to explain better to the retards like me so they dont break the rules for the ads. -
justincredibleThat was quick. AdSense is already serving ads to me. Sweet.

mcburg93Congrats on getting the ads back. Hope you can keep them here now.

You're welcome. I made a few calls to my buddy at Google asking him to place the OC on the priority list. I guess a "thanks sleeper" is too much to ask for; instead I get berated for making a prediction that didn't pan out. Only on the OC..justincredible;1285497 wrote:That was quick. If you were the big deal you pretend to be, you wouldn't have to ask.sleeper;1285567 wrote:You're welcome. I made a few calls to my buddy at Google asking him to place the OC on the priority list. sleeperAlso pretend? You mean like pretending a podunk school tucked away in Cleveland OH is better than Ohio State? And no, I'm not talking about Kent State.

ernest_t_bassWill you keep both adsense and the new company? Where would you like to display the ad I created?

Sounds like JJ Huddle 2.0. If I recall, all the rules was one of the main bitches about JJ and a main reason for this site being created. The $12 was just the final straw.O-Trap;1285426 wrote:Actually, this would probably not be a bad idea. Sure. Let's make sure the site isn't adsense approved. Then I'll be forced to charge money to keep it operating long term. Sounds like a great plan.WebFire;1285727 wrote:Sounds like JJ Huddle 2.0. Nah, I think one additional rules (no sexual content) is an okay compromise. -
justincredibleAnd people have been claiming "JJhuddle 2.0" ever since this site started.

The key differences:WebFire;1285727 wrote:Sounds like JJ Huddle 2.0. If I recall, all the rules was one of the main bitches about JJ and a main reason for this site being created. The $12 was just the final straw.
1. The rules there were because certain people in control wanted them. Nothing else. Rules here are just to keep the site from going under.
2. There are still things that are permitted here (at its strictest) that were never allowed on the Huddle, even before people got fed up. Profanity and the existence of a the Basement come readily to mind.
3. You have to virtually try to get permabanned here. People got permabanned without warning over there.
4. When you are "banned" here, you can still post in the basement. A ban there was a full ban.
5. Warnings are distributed before any infractions here. They were not there.
It's not a free-for-all here, because it can't be, and it wouldn't be good for the site to be anyway, but anyone who thinks this is JJ 2.0 doesn't remember JJ. Having been a Mod there, I can tell you that the Mods here, for the most part, bend over backward to keep from having to infract/ban people. Guys over there REALLY had a hard-on to ban. -
justincredibleAlso, I seem to remember JJhuddle being an awesome place to be way back in the day. They still had rules.

They had a no-swearing rule for almost the entire tenure.justincredible;1285746 wrote:Also, I seem to remember JJhuddle being an awesome place to be way back in the day. They still had rules. -

I understand. Just seems the OC keeps adding them, like JJ did. Just an observation. Nothing more, nothing less.justincredible;1285746 wrote:Also, I seem to remember JJhuddle being an awesome place to be way back in the day. They still had rules. -

Do you feel that any of them are unreasonable and/or make the site unenjoyable? I won't hate on you if you do, just curious.WebFire;1285803 wrote:I understand. Just seems the OC keeps adding them, like JJ did. Just an observation. Nothing more, nothing less.
