Ghosts?
-
Steel Valley FootballI never believed, or rather, never had any experiences that would make me believe. Now, I'm not so sure - there are some funny things happening in this house lately. Like just fucking right now.
So do you believe or not?
Anyone here with firsthand ghost experiences? -

I've got 911 dialed on the phone, as soon as you clarify what "funny things" are I will press send.Steel Valley Football;1279354 wrote:I never believed, or rather, never had any experiences that would make me believe. Steel Valley FootballIt's mostly around my kids.
-Just before I posted this, my kids were both upstairs asleep taking naps; I'm down in the living room and a door opens and shuts upstairs. Figuring it was one or the other, I said hello to the oldest first then youngest to no answer. So I run up the stairs to look in on them and they are both still asleep. I can hear all movement in their rooms as I'm directly below and there were no footsteps.
-The last two nights the cd player up on a shelf out of their reach started playing. I was sitting outside and heard it start over the baby monitor. First night I thought my wife may have woke up and went in an turned it on. Next day she says she didn't. So last night when it happened again I ran upstairs and everyone was asleep. Pretty odd. Several other things also that are even weirder...things being broken and such. Like an old iPhone being completely ripped in half. Wife says she didn't do it. Kids are too small to reach where I had it by a long way, let alone put it back. Though, the phone was sitting right next to a thing my buddy gave gave me who died. The only thing I have from him in the house.
Come to think of it, my wife is prob playing some kind of practical joke on me lol. I hope so anyway. -
Belly35You camp one night on the Battle Field of Gettsburg or even walk it once you will become a believer.

sportchamppsI'm not a believer but my brother is. His best friend passed away from cancer. A week before he died my brother visited him for the last time and he gave him a jewelry box that he told him to open after he had passed away. When my brother got the call that he had passed away his friends wife told him to open the box. Inside the box was his friends rolex watch. The funny thing is it had stopped working and the time on the watch was 3:47 the exact time his friend has passed away earlier that day. Also when my dad passed away and we came home from planning his funeral and when we walked in the house our tv turned on in the loving room, While the rest of us were in the kitchen. It was strange because the first thing my dad used to do when he came home was turn the living room tv on.

RotinajNot just ghosts. Vampires Bigfoot and the boogeyman. I play poker on Thursday nights with all of them.

said_aouitaLived in a "haunted" Victorian aged farm house with my good buddy after college. Heard and saw quite a few things. The farm is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by corn about 200 meters off the road.
Just to name a few spooky instances-
We'd hear a "thump thump thump" steady beat in the living room. Sounded almost like a car with subwoofers drove by. Go outside or another room you'd no longer hear it. Thinking it was the hot water lines, checked the basement to no sound.
Later after a few other odd things happening we talked with the landlord, who's a farmer and owned the house for many years.
Apparently the original owners widow died in a rocking chair in the living room.
Ever get that feeling like somebody is watching you? Laying in bed watching Letterman, I had that eerie feeling. The closet door was open and I looked over to see an old woman. She disappeared a split second later.
My buddy and I would hear boxes slide across the floor in the upstairs main bedroom, which was only used for storage.
Later I moved to Phoenix and my buddy got remarried. That's when the sh*t really got spooky. Apparently the old woman did not like the idea of other females in her house.
Drawers opening and slamming shut in the kitchen.
The front family room had huge sliding doors and was only used by my buddies kids (from 1st marriage) when they visited.
Inside the kids play room was a tv with built in vcr. It wasn't connected to an antenna so when turned on it was just static. I'm walking up to the door and can hear the "ssssssskkkkkkkkkssksksskskksskskskskskskskt"
sound from the tv in the drive way. I get inside, the sliding doors are still shut but the vcr/tv player was on full volume to just static.
yea yea yea.....everyone will say I'm lying or full of it but it's all true.
I think some people are just not sensitive enough to feel or see spirits. Generally, those type of people like Budweiser products and own pit bulls. -
Barry BadrinathI had a female friend that used to live in the Hower House on the University of Akron's campus. Story goes that the woman that lived their caught her husband cheating on her multiple times and is not fond of male visitors. Supposedly this is also one of the most haunted places in Ohio. Well one night when I was visiting, I decided to stay with her (she received free room and board in order for maintaining the museum portion of the house). My friend had told me stories of her waking up to the woman hovering over her bed, to her closet opening and slamming shut, and to seeing her standing in the mirror in the bathroom while she was doing her makeup.
Not believing in ghosts, I mocked her and talked a bunch of shit during the day (referring to her as ghost-****). Well sure enough, that night when we were sleeping, I woke up in a cold sweat at 3:30 in the morning. I heard what sounded like footsteps in the hallway (no one else was in the house) that led right up to the closed bedroom door. I saw a shadow on the floor and squeezed the shit out of the girl I was with. Before she woke up, my cell phone and the remote control to the television flew off the dresser next to her bed and shattered on the floor. I made her stay up with me the rest of the night and went and slept out in the car once the sun came up haha. -
Steel Valley FootballVery interesting. I agree that its possible some can see them and some can't.
As far as Gettysburg, can it really be dangerous scary? They can't hurt you, right? But, if Belly is scared then the rest of you prob wouldn't go within 50 miles of the battlefield. -
Fab1bIMO they cannot hurt you, the scared part comes from the unknown and the unexplained reasons for the sighting
-
Steel Valley FootballI dated a girl at Kent who lived in these high rises over by Blossom off rt 8 where a lot of old people live (and I assume die) and she swore her place was haunted and that a very strong ghost at night would choke her all the time to where she couldn't get him/her/it off her. I laughed it off at the time. Dated her four years and don't believe she would lie tho.
-
Fab1bthat was her way of explaining the marks on her neck from her other BF choking her during sex
-
Steel Valley FootballStrange because there were only hand shaped bruises on her hips and ankles and wrists.

GoChiefsTwo stories...
My grandmother lived with my aunt before she passed away. My grandmother's favorite thing to do was sit in her bedroom, in her favorite rocking chair, with the radio beside it turned on. She would just sit there for hours and hours and listen to the music. Once she finally passed, every now and then, you could walk into the bedroom, and you would see the rocking chair faintly rocking, like someone was in it and had just got up.
My uncle had an old El Camino that he absolutely loved. Completely restored, beautiful car. He'd always take it to car shows and what not. Well when he passed away, it was willed to my dad. My dad hardly ever drove it. Just kept it in the garage. One time, he come home from work, pulled into the driveway, and heard what sounded like a car running inside the garage. So he thought my mom was leaving in her car or something, so he didn't think anything about it. He walked into the house, and there was mom standing in the kitchen. He asked her why he left her car running. She was puzzled and had no clue what he was talking about. Goes into the garage, and there the El Camino is, started and just sitting there at idle. He came out to the garage and found that thing running on 4 or 5 different occassions, most of the time, nobody else was home to be fucking around with him. -

She's a liar. Who the fuck would continue living there with that going on?Steel Valley Football;1279490 wrote:I dated a girl at Kent who lived in these high rises over by Blossom off rt 8 where a lot of old people live (and I assume die) and she swore her place was haunted and that a very strong ghost at night would choke her all the time to where she couldn't get him/her/it off her. I think she had night terrors or something along the lines of apnea combined a sleep paralysis. She didn't have much choice in moving; she did one lease then went back home to her parents...so she kinda did bolt but she really didn't wanna go back home.
You're the liar btw. -
