I can edit the poll, but can't switch it from private to public. Sorry.thePITman;1267765 wrote:NOTE: Can a Mod make this poll public?
Edit: Nevermind. Looks like someone did it. I'm maybe potentially an idiot. -
Rotinaj20. Should of added more options.

justincredibleI made it public.

thePITmanThanks, justin.
If you want to add more options, you can add 4, 16, and 128 in numerical order. But I can't add.
But so far, it looks like the OC has learned its lesson from the last time we had a problem like this. I just saw this problem on Facebook, and people are answering 320 and trying to DEFEND it. LoL -
jmogDang, on my iPhone the first "x" looked like a "+" in which case the answer would have been 12 not 20. Oh well.

GOONx19The last time I think there was a much larger gray area in terms of application of the rules of math. This one is simple.

As I recall, the last one followed the same PEMDAS rules.GOONx19;1267806 wrote:The last time I think there was a much larger gray area in terms of application of the rules of math. This one is simple. -

Yup. I wish I had a link to that thread. Classic! I nominated it for the Hall of Fame but I don't think it was entered.O-Trap;1267844 wrote:As I recall, the last one followed the same PEMDAS rules. -

thePITmanthePITman, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
- Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?

O-TrapMy bad. It's in the Backup forum for Serious Business. Justin will have to move it.

Holy shit. 133 votes and only 54 got it right. 53 put 0 and 17 put 16 (granted, they had the right idea and probably missed the (-) sign and just added all of them. And 8 people put "winning" so their votes dont actually count.O-Trap;1267894 wrote:You do.

I thought the problem was 48/2(9+3). -

Ah. Still that one follows PEMDAS, but I don't recall that one.GOONx19;1268039 wrote:Oh. I guess I was thinking of something else then.
I thought the problem was 48/2(9+2).
The one I linked, however, was the one where someone was trying vigorously to say that there was more than one answer, justifying the non-use of PEMDAS.
It was quite funny as I recall.
