I am so sorry, Fab4Runner that I missed your comment. I will re-post because I think it is an important memory.

Our house at the time was on the main street in our town and the only gas station was right down the road from us. I remember sitting on our front porch and seeing cars and trucks lined up for hours waiting to get gas. It all seemed so surreal at the time.

Played a softball game that night and was low on gas....waited in line for 40 minutes and the $1.29 gas was raised to $1.99.
I'm thinking that around where I live, the gas was going upwards to $5.00. One gas station in our town was charged with price gouging (BP).

I was sitting in my 7th grade English class, a teacher ran in and told us what happened. We watched the second plane hit live. Utter insanity.

    This is photo shopped, right?

Pretty sure it is. Seems unlikely the camera would have survived and I doubt anyone would calmly poise for a picture with an airplane coming at them.

6th grade study hall when Mrs. Wright told us. I'll also never forget her saying that our world and lives would never be the same.

I was in computer class my freshman year of high school. Heard of the news over the PA system. Our dean of students was on the mic and mistakenly said that the World Trade Center had been taken hostage.

I saw the first tower fall later that morning in art class, at which point my friend was given a detention for saying "timber." While I'm sure I laughed at the time -- I have a dark sense of humor anyhow -- I don't think anyone in that room had any idea the magnitude of what was transpiring before us. It's still shocking 11 years later. I set a world record that week for most hours consecutively watching Tom Brokaw.

Terrific role model. I'm pretty sure that the tax payers, at least now, wouldn't care for you to use phrases like that.

"From this point on." This point on is AFTER my infraction, therefore shouldn't include my other usernames, correct? Again, you never answered my question. Was CHER banned when dlazz was banned? How about sleeper's other names?

    Why are you backsetting rules?

Since everyone thinks every new account is my account, will this mean new users start off in the basement?

    Clueless, absolutely clueless.

    Back to the topic.

I was a sophomore sitting in Biology Class. Someone walked in and said something to the teacher, so he turned his tv on. I'll never forget asking "Mr. Piper, what movie is this?" He tells me it's live TV, and we watch the 2nd plane hit about 10 minutes later. We watched tv for most of the rest of the day, but teachers had computers articles refreshing for the rest of the day.

I was the head football coach's student aid during the last period of the day(He was a teacher in the Junior High). I remember hearing on the announcement that 8th Grade football practice was cancelled. I made a comment about it thinking we would do the same, and he said "Something tragic has happened, but we've gotta prepare for [our game Friday]." He said the same thing during practice that night. It just always stuck with me that he felt football was more important. In hind sight, it's not that big of a deal, but at the time I was shocked that he said that.

I got home and rode with my grandma to get gas and waited for over an hour. Our town had 5-6 gas stations, and they were all packed like that.

I remember the football game that Friday Night. It was the only time in my hs career that we came out BEFORE the National Anthem. Also, if you're from the Lima Area, you know that St. Marys has a railroad track on a hill that sits at the south end of the stadium. I had never seen an American Flag that big before. They had it rigged up, so it was on display the entire game, and dozens had one to wave throughout the entire game.

The last thing I remember (probably because it still gets shown) is all of the College and Pro teams running out of the tunnels with American Flags; most notably the Texas Longhorns. I don't know why, but it's an iconic picture to me. I can't find it, but it's the one where the player has the flag, and there's smoke all around him.
