Has anyone gotten drunk during work?

  • Raw Dawgin' it
I'd had beers at lunch before with co-workers, but one time i pretty much drank an entire pitcher and went back to the office drunk and had to do excel work. Needless to say when i double checked it the next day about half of it was fucked up ha.

Anyways, anyone get drunk during work or have any good stories while they were drunk at work? Today is painfully slow and i could go for some brews.

I did when I interned in LA. The ad agency I worked at actually had a bar with a keg, but I don't think it counts since it was the end of the day. I do know a guy that came into the office high though. It brought a lot of lulz.

Occasionally, we will have a "liquid lunch" but every time we do they pretty much expect we just go home afterwards.

Nah. Got drunk in high school once though. Me and a few friends chugged beers in the locker room before the day started. Made the morning a little funner

We have office happy hours (in the office) every week on Friday afternoons so I usually have a beer in the kitchen then, and if I'm gonna be working past 5 on a Friday I usually take one back to my desk. Not drunk really but enough to get a small buzz while I work.

But your office knows you're drinking - i had to hide it all afternoon from my boss. I pretty much locked myself in my office.

I worked at a canoe livery in Loudonville during the summers while in h.s. Greatest job ever: canoers giving us free beer, an occasional hot chick to look at, plenty of weed to go around, and bosses who did not give a shit. I got shitfaced once when some customers thought it would be funny to get me drunk. Not a great idea since it was the middle of a hot ass day and I had to still had to load/unload canoes for another 8 hrs. Ended up puking and being extremely dehydrated for the rest of the day. good times

Did that once, too. Sitting out in the parking lot waiting for the first bell. I look down on the floor of the passenger seat and see an unopened bottle of MD 20/20 half buried in the crap on the floor. I pick it up and flash it to my friend parked next to me and he starts making a chugging motion with his hand. So I did. The whole bottle. Bad decision.

Yeah one bad experience with mad dog was all I needed. Can't even smell the stuff anymore without gagging.

Same with four lokos. Fuck that shit

...Got high during college & had to go to work after class and nobody apparently noticed. It was good the boss wasn't around because it sure was hard trying to keep focused on my work that afternoon

Surprisingly, no. I have gone to work still drunk from the night before, but have never gotten drunk during a shift.

I did get drunk before school one morning my senior year of HS. My friends and I decided to do some shots of vodka and then had a sober friend drive us there in my car. I was sitting in my first period class and got called down to the office. I was obviously freaking out. I get down there and my mom is standing there...insert more freaking out. She had been babysitting a friends daughter and started having really bad chest pains, so on her way to the doctor she stopped by and told me I needed to take Catherine home and watch her for the rest of the day while she went to her appointment. I only had a slight buzz by this time, but obviously still should not have been driving with a two year old in the car. But what was I going to do? Tell my mom that I got drunk before school while we are standing in the office? Nope.

I got us back home safely and eventually told my mom about it a few years later. She was not amused, but I laugh when I tell the story. In my entire school career, she never signed me out early any other time.

Well doing construction we never had any supervisors watching us so getting high and drinking was usually an everyday event.

In between two a days my senior year a few of us got a case of beer and went fishing. When we went to practice that evening it was nothing but bad. I felt sorry for the rest of the team we ran till each of us that had been drinking puked. It was not a good time at all. After practice in the locker room the coach walked in and said I bet that dont happen again.

Getting drunk or doing drugs at work is the same as stealing from your boss. It's true....but go ahead, let me have it!

    Only if it's not permitted.

I've gotten drunk before work but never during work. I've had a few beers at lunch before but that really didn't even get me buzzed.

In college when working on a farm hunting ground hogs. A farm truck, cooler full of beer and a loaded 22lr= good times.
Also when in college I had part time job's at Pizza Hut, Chi-Chi's and the Nutter Center and got drunk while still working.

Post-college Monday Night sales meetings. Eating wings, drinking beer and going over stuff while watching football. It's great when bosses cover the bill.

I have enough trouble doing my job sober - much as like my beer, wine, and bourbon, even one drink seems to take the edge off my ability to focus.

I've fired three people for it, though: :(
    - dock worker who passed out in the back of trailer, (pilfered) bottle of bourbon in hand
-a line-haul driver who killed off half of a case of Colt 45 on a 400-mile trip - had to fire him at the weigh station on I-71 near Wilmington. Two of
the empties fell out of the cab when he opened the door to hand the inspector his logbook.
    - claim adjuster (with two previous "diversion programs" episodes in less than six months) who was swigging from a flask at her desk. Also found
bag of what proved to be crack in her desk.

Clearly the product of shitty parenting. Probably watched Tommy Boy in your bedroom on your tv when you were 12.

Heard about a temp one time being found OD sitting on the john with a needle in his arm full of heroin. He got let go.
Don't know what is worse, the temp company for having him as an employee or the factory for using such poor temp's.
