I think the two points to take from this are:

    1. Don't go hiking/camping in a vast national park without a gun or something to defend yourself.
    2. Don't get within 50 yards of a hungry bear.

I'll be curious to see if the photos are ever released. Probably not. Not sure I really want to see them, either.

I'll be curious to know if a BEAR DICK PUNCH was involved.

Imagine that. A human loses when a bear picks a fight.

You mean only line of defense right?

Bears will attack and kill you.
    Wolves will not.

you are assuming the bear doesnt get the drop on you and dick punch you first.

When I read he got within 100/50 yds of the bear I said well no feeling sorry for this guy!

Bear Dick punch wouldn't even work on a bear of this caliber:

I heard that from Sleeper and Cher!

This also brings up another important issue. Dont go it alone. This guy was backpacking by himself and was attacked.

    Always go with someone else.

Someone that you can out run preferrably

Gosh a ruddies. People should take the bears out of the neighborhoods. They were bred to kill. People should just not go around them. Bears target the stupid and poor. They also target the young and older people.
