Avoid HH Gregg and G.E. warranties

2. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON G.E. warranties.
So.. my refrigerator is acting up. The refrigerator side will not stay cold. I remembered that when I bought the unit in 2005 that I also purchased the 10 year warranty. (normally I don't buy the extended warranties but this was my second refrigerator since moving into my house in 2000). I have all of my original paper work, call the number, hit all the buttons to be connected to the right people, only to be told that HH GREGG cancelled the warranty a few years ago. After being on the phone for more than an hour this is how the story ends. HH GREGG denies cancelling the warranty they say they can see a copy of this invoice in their system, GE warranty won't honor the warranty and neither party wants to fullfill their obligation. I am suppossed to bring in all of my paper work to HH GREGG and fax information to GE warranty. On Friday I was told by a manager that I would receive a service call today and I have not. Do not buy anything from HH GREGG and if you do, do not buy GE product warranties. -
Pick6I wouldnt buy anything from Acer (probably a mistake in the first place).
I've spent about $80 in shipping it to Texas, not once, but twice because it will keep randomly shutting off on me. The first time they "updated BIOS" and the second time they factory restored it. I'm not that damn retarded, I've already tried both of those along with many other things. Sending it in was a last resort that has turned into a giant pain in the ass and a waste of time and money. This "case" isnt closed yet, but I doubt it will be fixed this time and if it isnt I'll probably freak. -
mellaCustomer service for a lot of companies is really in the crapper. The wost customer service has to go to TIME WARNER CABLE. They raised my cable bill $20.00 and when I called to ask why they said my "promotional rate" expired. I wasn't on a promotional rate. TIME WARNER CABLE SUCKS. I am hoping the all caps gets this into a google search for TIME WARNER CABLE SUCKS.

I had an ASUS for two years before this one until it literally shorted out and caught on fire. I've had the Acer since January. No problems with it besides randomly shutting down. cant give you enough reps. they did the same thing for me. luckily i was canceling one the cable boxes in my house because i didnt use that tv. even when i tried to, none of the channels worked on that cable box that worked for my main tv cable box for some dumb reason. i told them it was getting to expensive and they gave me a new promotional offer or something.mella;1246923 wrote:Customer service for a lot of companies is really in the crapper. Two days later, before the WOW guy could to the hookup, TWC called and said they'd drop their price and include "turboboost" internet and free HBO/Showtime for six months....for $80.
lol huge corporations don't pay attention to the little things. They ultimately saved us $5 and gave us free 30mbps internet and HBO. It was awesome. -

CherI haven't been in H.H. Gregg in over 5 years. When I went, their products were expensive and their selection was lacking.

The nice thing about HH Gregg is they are more than willing to work on the price. We went to Lowe's first and found a stove we liked but couldn't find any fridges or microwaves we liked. Went to HH Gregg and found a much better stove that was a few hundred dollars more, but also found a fridge and microwave we liked. Good point, but the haggling process was painless. Basically "this stove is nice but quite a bit more than one I found at Lowe's that I really like. I plan on buying a stove, fridge, and microwave, any chance we can knock a few hundred off?" "Yeah, sure. What if we matched the price of the other stove and took off another 10%?" CherI don't hesitate to price match places, but I know that is next to impossible to do with most appliances since they'll change something subtle about it and give it a different model #.

First, it was because I requested it 7 months after buying it, then it was because HH Gregg already serviced the fridge, then it was they mailed me parts. After I pointed out the fact they were lying I asked then to mail me a letter stating HH Gregg cancelled the warranty. They couldn't because they are not set up to generate letters. After I got off the phone I drove down to the store and asked for my money back for the warranty. They refunded my money without too much of an argument.

That should tell you all you need to know about HH Gregg. They bloat their prices and subsidize the clever with the money of the poor and stupid. That's a good question. HHGregg keeps referring to G.E. Extended warranty as the company and the warranty company calls themselves Assurant Solutions Extended Warranties. I've asked if they are part of G.E. but I don't get a straight answer, they just repeat their company name. At this point I've got my money back and I don't plan on using either company again.
