Stars earn stripes

Anyone watch it last night? It wasnt too bad. Started slow as they had to go through alot of the meet and greet and such.

Thought it kinda funny that they could easily carry that ammo box......it had to be empty because even the small ammo cannisters filled with live ammo is pretty damned heavy.

    I may continute to watch..

I lol'd when the two black guys almost drowned. Stereotypes are funny.

Dammit...I forgot....my original title for this thread was 'black people cannot swim' but forgot to include that!

I kinda thought Palin would do pretty well with all is experience shooting and hunting and stuff like that.

As did I. Terry Crews better stick to Old Spice commercials.

He comes off as so passive that I thought he would just kind of go through the motions. I knew he had the outdoor experience, but questioned the drive. I was quite wrong.

I forgot to watch it ... thank for the reminder I will record it now...

I could be mistaken but a ammo box of M16 ammo is about 15 pounds however we never carried the box we load everything into clips, carried a clip wrap / bag so the weight was added for the clip .total ??? 25 pounds... every soldier in my squad also carried 200 round of M60 belts .... another 16/20 pounds

Generally there are 12 men but depending on the situation you can have as low a 6 or 8. I never had 12 guys...6-10 guys after Cambodia... I can't speak for other units but I would go out on an ambush without a 60 Cal.

... having only 6 guys on ambush (Cambodia) without a 60 had to be scary!

wooden crate with rope handles 12 wide x 8 deep x 30 long would be laws, or mortor rounds ..no mission squad would care something like that... not in Nam maybe in todays Army I don't know.

Not to "spoil" the whole ep for ya, which this wont, but part of the mission was to get the ammo box, carry it to a shed and put it in there and then explode it all.

That seems to about the size of the box you are talking about but without the handles on it. As I said..it was probably just an empty wooden crate.

I just watched the first competition interesting. I think it will be a good for those viewing to see the skill level, dedication and physical stress required by combat soldiers to achieve a mission. Also interesting are the weapons very cool stuff. </SPAN>
That box was a standard military basic training foot locker box and it was empty, the C-4 was placed inside the building once the box was inside. </SPAN>
Kind of bad the two Black guys did not think about having to swim nor anyone ask about swimming skills. If you where a poor swimmer and the additional gear (40 pound), restriction to move your arms because of the gear you would panic also, if you did know to dog paddle or a form of short breast stroke that would also lead to more panic.</SPAN>

I think when the missions get harder and the more physical extreme is required things will get interesting. </SPAN>

I hope other eps are only an hour though.

I know we did a swim, only in a pool, with alot of gear on and it wasnt the easiest of things at all. The water starts to gather around your calfs where the uni is tucked in the boots and adds additional weight.

I saw this AM that a group of Nobel Peace Winners are protesting the show.
