Mitch Hedberg is one of those people who gets too much credit because they died young. Another "victim" is Heath Ledger.

    Good? Yes.

    Best? No.

I disagree. The way Mitch delivered his jokes was fantastic. He's different than other comedians. He was shy and reserved and he made it work.

    He was stoned.

But the fact he was shy has been said time and time again.

I kind of assumed you did because you made the thread.

Saw Mitch and Stephen Lynch live in Detroit a few months before he died...hilarious. Easily in the top few of my favorite comedians, maybe the best.

I've got a picture of Mitch when he was younger...

I think I have posted this here before but I went to see him at Mershon Auditorium on the OSU campus. He was a mess. So wasted he couldn't even finish his own jokes and carved the F word into the stage floor with the mic stand. I told my girlfriend (now wife) that he would be dead in a couple of years and he was.

My thought is that they are overelaborate show-offs. I much prefer their modest and unpretentious wooden cousin, the tongue depressor. They do all the hard work, behind the scenes, in tiny rooms surrounded by unenthusiastic gauze pads and no recognition.
