Seriously, though... How is that grounds for a beating?
  • vball10set
^^^maybe no grounds, but if you're stupid enough to antagonize a guy in uniform armed with a club, then you deserve to get your ass kicked

And if you're stupid enough to hit someone with a weapon because they flipped you off you deserve to go to prison and to never have a job in law enforcement again.

Why don't you head down to your local police station, sheriff's office, etc. and get up in an officers face and start wagging your middle fingers at him like a fucking crazy man, and then come back on here and tell us what happened...smfh

We weren't talking about what will happen but what should happen. The officer should not beat a person with a weapon for doing that as he is breaking the law to do so. As such he should go to prison and I don't believe in being very forgiving for police officers who break the law. We give to much power and respect to the position to accept that sort of thing from them.

What you said indicates that you think it's acceptable for an officer (or anyone) to beat someone with a weapon for flipping them off. Is this correct?

Police work is a thankless job. All that is ever reported is when an officer fucks up, how about reporting when they do things the right way and actually help people who need their help.

I see that reported all the time.

But my point remains, police deserve a ton of respect and we give them a lot of power. Because of this I am not very forgiving when they abuse that respect and power. Doesn't take away my respect for the majority that do their job in a manner deserving of that respect.

There are bad apples in every profession.

By the way I just made a donation to Wounded Warrior on your behalf. It isn't much, but I hope it helps.

In a perfect, Pleasantville world, of course not...but, with what the police department has to deal with day in and day out, and with the nutcases and crazies they have to deal with, all I'm saying is if someone is stupid enough to antagonize an officer in this manner, he should not be surprised to be met with some sort of physical retaliation.

Oh I agree with that, I would never fucking do that because 1: It's stupid and 2: I would think the same outcome would happen.

But that doesn't mean the beating is legal or justified. That was my only point not to defend that action as something smart or respectful.
