    Don't use tap water.

I prefer taking drugs for my sinuses.

    Generally speaking, taking drugs wins.

    Why?

I use beer. The foam grabs all the fine particulate.

    With a dash of tobassco.

It's a great way to get a sinus infection, or better yet meningitis (if you've got the right anatomy and/or immune system).

You should try eating Vicks Vapor Rub. Just ask Belly.

    Worked for Bo

I bought one 18 months ago, because I've been more prone to sinus infections after a cold in the last 10 years. I'd been using the Saline Spray with some success, but the Neti pot is something else entirely

Very uncomfortable, though. All that water going into your nasal cavity and sinuses makes you feel like you accidentally breathed in through your nose while at the pool. But it is disgustingly effective after it all drains out, and it helps to keep the sinuses relatively clean, and reduce the post-nasal drip/cough

Yes, definitely use distilled water for this.

    Neti pots...good stuff.

I don't use a Neti pot, but I use one of these:

Warm, distilled water and the little Saline packet. Half the bottle up each side a few times a week(if not way more), does wonders.

Very similar to the Saline Spray my doctor recommended ten years ago, but probably a lot cheaper per fill since you can mix it yourself. Effective.

Still, the difference between the Sinus Rinse and a neti is like the difference between using a garden hose with your thumb over the end to get a spray, and using a pressure washer

Sometimes the former is fine, and sometimes you just need the latter. Hoo-ah! :D

I guess I don't know the difference between the two. I have the little blue plastic tea cup looking thing and the packets shown here. Empty packet into blue thing and add warm tap water.

Am I still going to get meningitis?

    Same here. Use it daily.

Daily? What the hell is wrong with your sinuses?

I don't know about him, but the ENT guy I saw said I could use the saline solution as often as I wanted. I was developing a polyp and had 2 medications to mix in with the saline. Since then, I only use the saline solution when I feel congested or my allergies act up.

Maybe I mis-read your product - I was thinking you used the squeeze bottle on the label, much less pressure and volume of liquid used. If you're using something like a teacup or teapot, that's essentially a neti pot, the stuff pours right in.

Not sure about meningitis. I've used tap water before, but I decided I was going to stick with fresh distilled water for my neti and for my CPAP. Your call.
