    Scottie Reynolds is so overrated
  • Prescott
Scheyer played 107 more minutes and took 68 more shots. Shouldn't his numbers be bigger??
  • Laley23
Scheyer or Anderson over Reynolds and I think the First Team would be perfect.

    I would agree with this.

Yep and he was a no show in the tourney. Sorry if this has already been covered, but when do they announce AP player of the year?

If there is an indicator, it might be that Turner was named on 64/65 ballots.

If they thought Scheye should be on first team he would have been.

  • GOONx19
    Third Team

    Darington Hobson

I would've liked to see Patrick Patterson, but no complaints.

Who is the moron who didn't put Turner on first team? Did Crean get to vote in this? ;)

Big Wes made 1st team. Very cool.
  • se-alum
I also don't understand the love for Scottie Reynolds.

I just read this on the AP...how could a coach not put Turner on his first team ballot? puzzling..

"Turner, the 6-7 point guard considered one of the best all-around players in recent years, received all but one first-team vote from the 65-member national media panel that selects the weekly Top 25."

So are these votes not known to the public? I mean, who didn't vote Turner first team. The dude's credibility needs to be called out.
  • Quint
The lone voter would probably blame it on his wife or something, a la the Steve Spurrier/Tim Tebow voting fiasco.

Seriously though. . . that guy should have his voting rights taken away, because that is horrible.

It's not about stats, if you knew anything about how all-american/all star teams are selected, you would understand that it is NEVER about just stats.

Precisely, which is why I'm wondering how we're like 15 posts in and nobody has mentioned Lucas for any of the 3 AA teams....

Sure its about stats, never seen an All American that scored 6 ppg. It also has alot to do with winning. And to make my point again, who is still playing?
Please. The better players are going to HAVE the stats. Thats a no brainer. But stats are everything. They are surely part of it...but they almost always come along with the best players. But its not like these people look at the stats to pick the teams.

So why aren't the top 5 scorers in the country the all american team every year?

After seeing Heyward play in the tourny, I can't believe he isn't somewhere on this team.
