Urban Meyer Chews Out Reporter

  • Hb31187
Lol a touchdown is a touchdown yes...And being able to call your own number ont he 1 yard line repeatedly for a QB sneak is inflating your rushign Tds.
  • Hb31187
Is he the greastest rushign QB in college fb history because of his rushing tds? He was an average rushing and average passing QB at best who was surrounded with unbelievable talent. And him bombing in the pros will prove this point.

Oh and speaking of things being idiotic....did you think before you posted that a certain player was FOR SURE coming back only to have ESPN come otu with an article within a day saying he was gone? Haha did you think before you posted that, Mr college football Guru. Stfu

Well put. Its the coach who should be setting an example for how to act. Its a freaking sports writer. How many times a week do we see a writer put something in a paper that ticks off someone? Its part of what they do, and every major coach in the country KNOWS THIS going in.
How you react to something is the key here. Meyer was just stupid for doing what he did, and saying what he did.
Amazing that even Florida fans can't even see this. Admit the obvious.

What he wrote is directly what Meyer reacted to, poorly or not.
How the hell can you say it is irrelevant ?

Referring to the fact that I reported what was said to me in the locker room after a victorious Rose Bowl when I got back from SoCal a few days later only for him to change his mind, like other 21 years do? Then yes. And since then I've taken credit for the stupidity of the thread.

I didn't analyze somethign stupidly like you have though. You're trying to discredit Tebow by comparing him to Brennan and Harrell? HAHAHA
  • Hb31187
He is going to be just like them. A spread offense sytem QB who amounts to nothing in the NFL. sounds like theyre comparable

The reporter quoted a player's exact words. He did nothing wrong, it's the University of Florida, not some DIII high school program.

And lollllll at Urban already getting all worked up about something so insignificant and trying to physically intimidate the reporter. The reporter should have pushed his buttons so we could see heart attack #2. It can't be far off at this rate.

Would not be a wise business move. I doubt Meyer was joking when he threatened to revoke the Sentinel's credentials, and if that were to happen, the Sentinel would probably fire him because they won't be able to write any original Gators stories, they'll need to get all the information second hand through either the SID or other journalists.

THIS!! And ONLY this!! Any other way a Gator fan tries to justify Meyers blow up is only being a homer. he has a right to defend his players, but he did it in the wrong place, and at the wrong time!!

He was just trying to be the playground bully. he came away looking like a desperate asshole. Kornheiser and Wilbon BOTH just called Meyer a bonehead!! Wilbon said if Meyer talks that way to him. He would get punched!! They say, "Be a Man urban Meyer"

Off topic, but, it has been asked of Buckeye fans countless times whether given the choice of Meyer or Tressel, which would they choose...

It's Tressel in a fuckin' landslide...

Tressel doesn't put himself, the Universty or his players in comprimising, embarassing, spot light positions.

    PERIOD.

lol @ UF pulling the Orlando Sentinel's credentials. Unless they send a reporter to assassinate Meyer, it's not happening.

Because what the reporter did or said isn't relevant. The only relevant action was Urban Meyer's boorish response.

Wrong place and wrong time. Both chosen by Urban Meyer.

YEAAAAA but Urban has 2 national championships and Tressel has 1, and Urban won their head to head meeting despite OSU having superior talent.

I want Tressel for his professionalism and his ability to turn guys into men and his preparation for the NFL.

I want Urban for his mean streak, for his deuchebaggery, for his "win at all costs" attitude, not to mention his in-game adjustments.

    WOW

The reporter did his job and Urban gets his panties in a bunch.

Urban went over the line and acted like a huge dick threatening the reporter for only doing his job.

Haha, class fucking act right there.
  • ytownfootball
I really don't see there being an option...OSU isn't middle of the road nationally or in the Big 10, perrenial contenders, regularly participating in BCS matchups and always a contender for the Big 10 title. The programs are on par with one another, sans one national title.

The difference is how they go about getting there lhslep134, the older I get the more I respect that. After you graduate and move forward in life I suspect you will too. /corny soapbox

Here we go again, my God gibby, it's not so because you say so.

Some people feel that how their University is represented is more important than a few wins. That's a fact.

Then when it comes to FOOTBALL...they are stupid

How the two are mutually exclusive in your mind doesn't surprise me.

No university separate the two, some weight them differently obviously.

If you don't think JT is at least on the same level as Meyer then you're a fucking idiot, really.

But I love Meyer in this story, I love what he said. I think he's getting a lot of heat from it because people don't like him for other reasons--but in this case, you gotta love it. When you're watching the media talk about someone taking a shot at the media, they're going to paint him out to be the bad guy. But I love seeing someone tell a media guy to fuck off and not sugar coat it. Thompson's comments made total sense to me, I don't think he meant anything negative about Tebow with what he said--he's just more comfortable with a normal QB. But the media was going to hint that it was something more than it was...which shouldn't surprise ANYONE.
  • september63
The media guy didnt HINT. He quoted him word for word. Then he simply asked the exact question with no sarcasm. Meyer has a right to defend his guys, but he did it in the wrong place and certainly the wrong time. An ESPN poll had 78% of ppl saying Meyer over stepped his boundries. Believe what you want but the majority of ppl think he fucked up and made himself look bad.
  • SQ_Crazies
LOL, please don't try to cite an ESPN poll on Meyer like it means anything here. First of all, God knows how many people voted on that and didn't even see or read the story. And more importantly, you know how many people just hate Urban Meyer.

I mean, it's just my personal stance, but fuck the media. Props to Meyer.
  • september63
An ESPN poll doesnt mean anything here. Just like your opinion doesnt mean anything here. My opinion doesnt mean anything here. Ill believe he fucked up the situation and you believe what you want.
