wouldn't matter against Missouri, that would be full go

    WVU would be a contrast
Yeah, Washington and Mizzou would be insane.

    WINNER.

And S&L, don't get too upset, happens to all the big programs at some point. Gotta let the little guy have their moment sometimes.

I was at the game when UAB knocked off Kentucky. Had to drive back to Lexington that night. One of the worst sports days of my life.

Wait a minute. I'm not taking anything away from NIU.....or am I saying Kansas didn't deserve to lose....they did. My point is that if the committee does their job, a game like this (which has got to go down as one of the best ever)....should have been a SWEET 16 game at least....and likely Elite 8. Obviously Kansas lost....but games like this should be later in the tournament. That's the whole reason for seeding right? To get the best teams playing each other later in the tournament. That's my problem with the seeding. NIU won, Kansas lost and there are teams who are far worse who are still playing. That's not how it's supposed to work. A great game no matter how you look at it, but I would much rather have seen that game next weekend.

    It's UNI people.

They deserve THAT simple respect today.

I did the opposite drive, was with my mother in Lexington in a hospital before the game, drove to Port Columbus to fly back to NYC during the game. Got to the airport and saw many angry UK fans.

IMO, Kansas State is going to make this one ugly. Hope I'm wrong, I'd love to see more upsets. Let's make this thing even crazier and take out the state of Kansas today.

Maybe after this tournament the committee will start to realize that a mid-major with 30 wins (both NIU and Murray St) deserves a decent seed. NIU was in the top 25 all season and they get a 9 seed.....and a pathetic Notre Dame team who a week ago wasn't even going to be in gets a 6. If the committee would see teams based on how they play, not the size of their conference, the entire tournament would be better. Games like this one should be sweet 16 or elite 8 games....not second day.
You could put Cornell as another team that was completely under seeded. I told some people at Bdubs this on thursday its like Cornell should have been the 5 seed and Temple the 12 lol.

Its sad I have Kansas winning it all but I was rooting for UNI the whole time(Ive been pretty big on them all year as I have a friend who goes there). Still it was a great game. I love March Madness!

At this point, I'd love it if it was like the year that George Mason was in the final 4. I really think a team like St. Mary's has a shot at making it that far.

    10-0 BYU

I said when I saw the bracket that I thought a dark horse was going to win it this year. But of course I picked Kansas like everyone else--I had no idea (and still don't) who it would be.

    10-0 BYU.

I think Kentucky will have it easy against Wake

Wake was lucky to survive a game against truly mediocre teams

BYU out to a early 10-0 lead

    Preach on
Yeah, there is so much BS in this thread that I'm not sure where to begin. They lost, period.
No one said anything about Kansas' play today...simply that UNI was under seeded.

UNI was/is the better team, and they proved that today.

What I have an issue with, is giving a 30 win team a fucking 9 seed.

    Wake has some size, though
  • Cleveland Buck
Wake isn't a great team, but they do have some quality big men, and if they pound it inside, make Kentucky take it out of the rim, slow down their fast break, and make them shoot jumpers, Kentucky can be beaten by many teams.
  • trackandccrunner
2 big blocks there by cousins then a big 3 by Wall.

So far you're right.....K-State is making it ugly, though I'm guessing that's not what you meant:D
  • Cleveland Buck
Bledsoe walked on that and-one. And Wake sucks. Can't keep them out of the lane.

    Wake is getting it inside

Kentucky's ability to block shots has been the difference

a better word might be parity

If Kentucky gets production from Miller like that, they won't lose.
  • Mulva
I don't see Kentucky losing anymore regardless. I don't see youth being a factor with Calipari leading them. I know I shouldn't say this with what's transpired the last 3 days now, but there is nobody left on their side of the bracket I can see beating them.

West Virginia might be able to if they played perfectly.
  • Non
I don't think West Virginia has close to the firepower.

Butler often has to carry the load on offense. They play outstanding defense and have some good length but lack the balance.
