When? Care to make a wager on that above statement? You'd have to make your date pay! ;)
Hell no, cause it aint gonna happen!! I have X and Siena winning....thats it. I have MSU, Wisky, and OSU all advancing. I just think it would be funny if they all did lose after this thread was started. I listed those four because frankly I cant even see OSU being contested. The other 4 could all go either way, imo. Wiksy should roll, but Wofford is a tough team.

I am actually going with Minny over X. Except for second half vs OSU, they were on a roll and I think they get the W in a close game.

I didn't hear to many experts saying the Big 10 was the best conference but a lot of chatter about the Big East. They got favorable seedings and haven't produced yet. The Big 10 actually got unfavorable seedings based on their conference standings. Though I did love the interview with the chair head when talking about Purdue and how they played without Hummel wa a factor in their seeding....I mean they played what like 3 games without him and won 2 of them? Also it that was the case they obviously didn't factor how OSU played without Turner or they would have been a 1 seed.

Big East basketball=SEC Football=Media Saints=WAAAYYYYYY OVERRATED. (Purdue thumped WV)

The Big Ten easily is better !!!!!

The guy on Mike and Mike this morning said Thad Matta and Bo Ryan aren't popular coaches? Are you kidding me?

Big Ten could easily get three to the Final Four this year.

    This is all sarcasm, correct?

And WVU beat OSU last year away and this year. So what does one game really prove?

To be honest though, isn't this just confirming what a lot of people have thought this year in that there are no teams that are truly great and can just smack down the little guys? Off the top of my head I can't think of a conference that had a really good day. The SEC lost Florida and Tennessee wasn't overly impressive. The BE is obvious. The Big 12 had Texas go out in a good game, but one that was indicative of Texas' season in that they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Everyone knows the Pac 10 blows ass. I'm not sure I can see any conference having a real great weekend but I'm excited to see how it plays out tomorrow.
My thoughts exactly. I picked a lot of upsets this year just because I knew there were no great teams. I picked Old Dominion, Washington, Murray State and N. Iowa yesterday and have Cornell and Sienna winning today. Just to let everyone know I only use one sheet.
    Congratulations, here's your cookie

Pretty easy really. Big 10 = GOAT

The Big East redeems itself today.

Thanks-- by the way, I was right again with Cornell and so far Sienna is up on Purdue.

Here's what is up with the Big 10. Opposing fans don't respect them, the media doesn't respect them and the NCAA committe doesn't respect them.

Doesn't make it a shitty league though. I think it's a top tier basketball conference.

They don't have to respect the Big Ten. They can just respect the fact that while their teams are sitting at home watching, they will usually be watching 1 or 2 Big Ten teams in the Final Four.

Only twice the last decade has there been two Big Ten teams in the Final Four, four times there wasn't one Big Ten team.

So I'd say you can't "usually" watch 1 or 2 big ten teams in the FF.

    ^^^

I was just looking at it. They do have the second most FF appearances behind the ACC since 2000. Big 10 only has 1 Championship.

Ok, since 'usually' can be interpreted in different ways, how about 'more often than not', since that would be factually correct.

Who are you referring to with this? I think other conferences do just fine as a whole and even better when it comes to championships with the exception the Pac10
  • Cleveland Buck
Well, only the ACC has more Final Four appearances (in the modern era), and almost all of those are by Duke or North Carolina, so I suppose it refers to everyone of the people "that don't respect the Big 10" or whatever the one guy said, that isn't a Duke or Carolina fan.

Actually the ACC has had 8 teams in the Final Four... UNC/Duke: 5 others: 3
So no, almost all of the Final Fours haven't come from UNC and Duke.

The conference you can use that argument, is the SEC, where outside of FLorida's 3 Final Fours, you only have 1 appearance in the Final Four by an SEC team.
  • Cleveland Buck
I'm talking about since the tournament went to 64 teams. The ACC has 22 Final Fours, 18 of them by Carolina or Duke. The others were by Georgia Tech and Maryland. The Big Ten has 17 Final Fours by 7 different teams (Michigan State, Ohio State, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota).

    Ahhhh macro vs micro...gotcha :D

So... how many Pac-10 teams would win the Big East?

I'm kidding of course. But wow Big East. Wow.
  • Ankle Breaker
My first round bracket has 8 losses. Buying into the big lie of the Big East being the nation's best conference cost me 4 of those losses. And Nova's win was a gift. They should've been 3-5.
  • Little Danny
If you are counting gift wins, you can throw in Michigan's State gift last night. Lane violation--- are you kidding me??
