UNLV came close, but Duke knocked them off in the Semis.

How many NCAA Division I teams have finishes the season undefeated (including post-season, not just regular season)?

Yep. Illinois came pretty close in 2005, as well. The legacy of Matt Sylvester lives on.

    I can think of 4.

Indiana -- Last team do it, 1976
UCLA -- I know they did it twice during their 88-game win streak, I wouldn't be surprised if they did it another time as well
San Francisco -- I believe they were the first team to do it

Ehh. I don't know other than just listing off big programs. I think NC St. technically finished a season undefeated, since they were on probation and couldn't accept an NCAA bid.

Haha. I have no idea what seasons these would have been, but I'm assuming you mean UNC and UK.

Most tournament appearances, without appearing in a national championship game. Top 5?

    Yep.
    UNC 32-0 in 1956/57
UK 25-0 in 1953/53 (turned down bid because 3 players were ruled ineligible for the NCAA tournament)

complete guess, but Purdue HAS to be up there.

    Texas or Gonzaga?
  • Laley23
nm, I just remembered Purdue has been to 1 final game. I think it would be them otherwise.

    Notre Dame?
  • fiction
Notre Dame has the most with 30.
    Texas is #2 with 28.

Gonzaga is wrong. They've only been 13 times.

There's a logjam at the #5 spot, so 5 teams left. Purdue would have also been tied for #5.

Who is the only #16 seed to defeat a #1 seed?

In the tourney none, bu tI do wonder if a team ended up a 16 has ever beaten a team who ended up a 1 seed in the preseason/regular season.
