Best First Round Game of the Tourney
-
wes_mantoothWhich game looks like the best matchup or which game are you looking forward to on Thurs or Fri?
I am going with the Richmond/St Mary's game...It should be a good one. -
wildcats20Gonzaga/FSU
Cornell/Temple
Maryland/Houston
Ga Tech/Okie St. -
darbypitcher22Temple/Cornell
Richmond/St. Mary's
Murray St./Vanderbilt -
wes_mantoothI think Cornell is going to roll Temple.
-
CinciX12Part of me wants Temple to lose to Cornell so X can pretty much just flip them off and say don't worry A10, we'll carry your sorry asses again.
But I wont be able to do that because Richmond will win by 20 against St. Mary's. For those of you who haven't seen this team play yet, watch this game. They have two guards in Anderson (A10 POY over Jordan Crawford) and Gonzalvez that are hands down awesome. Anything less than the Sweet 16 is a disappointment for them. -
trackandccrunnerI'll just name some games that havent been said yet but I really think the Texas A&M/Utah State game is going to be a great one, also UNLV/UNI could be good too then there is Vandy/Murray State that I can't wait to watch.
-
Laley23Temple/Cornell
A&M/Utah St
Purdue/Siena
ND/Old Dominion
Richmond/St. Marys
Butler/UTEP
Vandy/Murray St
The 8/9 match-ups are always good, but I dont think any of them really have a ton of appeal this year. -
Laley23
Thats insane. First, I doubt they beat St Marys by 20. Have you seen St Marys play???CinciX12 wrote: Part of me wants Temple to lose to Cornell so X can pretty much just flip them off and say don't worry A10, we'll carry your sorry asses again.

Then to say losing to Nova would be a disappointment is just wrong. -
CinciX12
You don't want to watch Gonzaga lose? It will be so sad for the media that their 'mid-major' favorite got beat in the first round.Laley23 wrote: Temple/Cornell

I have and I think they will give Nova the game of their lives and not quite get the job done. I'm telling you, Richmond will beat the crap out of St. Mary's.Laley23 wrote:

september63Neither Gonzaga or Temple will lose in the 1st round. Utah State will lose right away.

I dont doubt that Richmond will win. But rarely is a tourney game won by 20 pts, especially a 7-10 match-up.CinciX12 wrote:

Now, they will give Nova a game sure. But I dont see how losing is a disappointment. -

Someone on espn thought that Siena would be favored in Vegas because of all of Purdue's injuries. I wonder what the line will be?ccrunner609 wrote: Purdue and Siena will be a good game. -

Azubuike24I'm pissed it's Vanderbilt against Murray State. 2 of my 5 favorite teams in this tournament have to play early. Very disappointed.
-
Laley23I got Murray State in the sweet 16. Pissed cause I was about to take Vandy pretty far and get Beal on my team for the players challenge, lol.
-
CinciX12I haven't seen Murray State play yet this year. Whats the reason you guys are picking them?
-
Laley23
Very good team. Seen them 4 times. I picked a TON of mid-majors though this year....so it isnt like I think this is THE mid major to make a run. For some reason I really like a lot of their draws this year.CinciX12 wrote: I haven't seen Murray State play yet this year. Whats the reason you guys are picking them? -
Laley23BTW, it isnt like they play a grueling schedule. But ANYTIME you win 30 games before the NCAA you are a damn good team. They also have 6 guys who average double digits (of so the 6th is at 9.5)
-
FairwoodKingI'm rooting for all the underdogs. I hope this is the year when a #16 beats a #1.
-
hoops23UNLV/Northern Iowa - contrast in styles.. should be good (going with UNLV)
Houston/Tennessee - Houston caught fire and I could see this going either way (going with Tenn)
Gonzaga/FSU - I'm picking the Zags, but FSU has some athletes that could pose problems.
Butler/UTEP - UTEP has the bigs to give Butler big problems. (picked UTEP)
Murray St./Vandy - Love what I saw from the Racers this year, going with them..
Texas/Wake - Texas wins, but it should be a good game
Clemson/Missouri - two quick paced teams, should be up and down all day (picking mizzou)
Siena/Purdue (picking Siena)
Richmond/St. Marys (going with richmond)
