Calipari stumping for MSU to get in the NCAA Tournament in his interview.

Oh just give it 5 years and UK will be back down to 25 SEC Championships :)

No. He'll be a top-ten point guard in the league by his third year. Top-five shortly after.
    Really?

I just don't see it unless he is paired with a superstar. He is a great college player but I was more impressed with Rose during his freshman year. I think Wall will be a good pro but I just have this weird feeling that he won't be the superstar people have predicted.

Cal said it though, they should not have won this game.

Good ball game. Neither team could pull away. I am not sure what the largest lead ever was...I think UK was only up 4 at the most.
Miss St, like ILL is going to really going to have a lot of what if's if they don't get in the NCAA. Both teams had plenty of chances to win their games...and both couldn't get it done. But thats what seperates the very good teams, from those that are not.

Cal also said his team should have 12 losses.

I agree. Illinois would've been tough for anyone to beat on Saturday. OSU had to play an amazingly resilient game.

Illinois is 19-14. I don't care who they beat or anything, you don't make the tourny with 14 losses.

It's supposed to be the best 65 teams, a team with 14 losses is not one of the best 65 teams.

    10-8 in the conference, though.

You usually get in if you win 10 in one of the major conferences.

They pass the eye test, although so does Miss State.

It will all depend on what criteria the committee really values. I personally like to reward teams that show, at the end of the year, they can play with the best.

    Minnesota did that.
    Illinois did that.
    Mississippi State did that.

Rhode Island, Florida and Virginia Tech did not.

Utah State, as much as I like watching them play, could not beat any of those first 3 mentioned if both played their best game.

Dont see it? What UK team have you been watching?

I suppose it is better to play to cupcakes all year, 7 games against the top 50, win 2 of them, and finish with 11 losses, than to play 14 games against the top 50, win 5 of them, and finish with 14 losses.

Or someone like Virginia Tech who only has 8 losses. They are definitely one of the 65 best teams. Never mind that they only played 5 top 50 teams and beat 1 or 2 of them. All of these mid majors with less than 14 losses who played no one are more deserving as well, right?

I agree. I'd take all three of those -- Minnesota, Illinois and Miss State -- over Rhode Island, Florida and Virginia Tech.

I think the last eight teams should all play wild card games on Tuesday.

Four play-in games with at-large contenders

Minnesota vs. Rhode Island, Illinois vs. Virginia Tech, etc.

And then those teams go into the bracket as like No. 12 seeds.

You would still argue about those teams but at least there is that last chance to decide it on the court.

You know what, this week has shown why expansion is a retarded idea. Look at how many GREAT games we have seen with such passion and heart because teams are fighting to get in. Illinois, Minny, MSU, GT, etc are all in if its 96.

My DVR quit recording with 9 seconds left in regulation. I know who won the game but what happened at the end? UK was down by 1 when it quit recording. Any help would be appreciated.
From the 99% of the game I watched...........what a great game. I hope MSU makes the tourney, they can be dangerous.

    MSU makes 2 FT's, up 3.
They foul Bledsoe with like 5 secs left, makes the first, misses the 2nd(perfectly).
MSU stands around, Wall gets the board.
Wall air balls a long 2 right in the hands of Cousins who goes straight up with it, ball leaves his hand with .1 left, tie game.

Thanks, hopefully they have a re-showing of the game tonight. Any crazy events in OT?
