Nortwestern's Kevin Coble is Done
-
PrescottNorthwestern's leading returning score, senior forward Kevin Coble, is out for the year because of season ending foot surgery. This is a huge loss for the Wildcats and the Big 10.
-
newarkcatholicfanThat stinks.
-
fan_from_texasArgh. No tourney for us this year.
-
centralbucksfanWas this just announced? They had said a few days ago that he was out indefinately...didn't say anything about the entire year?
If so, thats really sad as NW had a legit shot at finally getting to the NCAA. I loved watching him play....the kid can flat out shoot the ball, he looked like "old school" basketball when he played...but he could get it done! -

milehiiuYes he is done for the season.
Some of you may recall that Kevin took a year away from BB , the year before last to take care of his mother who had been stricken with cancer. Her cancer is now in remission, and she attended many of his games, home and road last year.
Kevin IMO is one of the B10's top players, and it is just a shame what all this kid has gone through in the past two years. -

Unorthodox, but very effective. This is a bad break( no pun intended) and a terrible shame.Kevin IMO is one of the B10's top players, and it is just a shame what all this kid has gone through in the past two years. -
burt07Damn that's absolutely terrible, I was hoping Northwestern was finally going to make a run for the tourney this year. Shame.
-
wildcats20Always liked watching him play. Anyway he can get a medical redshirt and come back for a 5th year?
-
cat_loverThat is a shame. He was fun to watch and a pretty good player to boot.
-
reclegend22That's exactly what I thought after reading, wildcats.
Is a medical redshirt in the plans? Did he redshirt to take care of his mom or simply leave the team? -
OneBuckeye^ I think he could probably get one more year if he wants it. I am not sure. Its a damn shame.

Technically that wouldnt matter. If you redshirt for non-medical reasons, you can then redshirt another year if you actually do get hurt and need a medical redshirt. I would expect him to have another year of eligibility.reclegend22 wrote: That's exactly what I thought after reading, wildcats.

But for the record, I think he played a portion of the other season. -
reclegend22Thanks for clearing that up. That's what I figured.
He was fun to watch when hot. I hope he comes back.
