  Well, let's think here. Here are the BCS schools within the boundaries of each region.
  
  Big Ten - Iowa State, Notre Dame, Pitt, Cincinnati
  Pac-10 - none
  SEC - Louisville, Georgia Tech, Miami, Florida State, Clemson, USF
  
  And how about the BCS schools within one state of the outside of those boundaries (no overlap to the other conferences)?
  
  Big Ten - Nebraska, Missouri, Louisville, West Virginia, Army, Rutgers, Maryland
  Pac-10 - Colorado
  SEC - Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Notre Dame, West Virginia, North Carolina, NC State, Duke, Wake Forest, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati

  I think what NNN is trying to say is that there are more quality BCS teams surrouding the region of the SEC school's than in the northeast or the midwest. For instance,SEC schools frequently schedule ACC teams Florida State, Miami, Clemson, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, all of the Texas schools, etc. Those are quality opponents anyway you slice it. OSU and other teams only have a couple BCS conference schools to schedule from in their region UC, Pitt, WVU, Missouri and Iowa State. In other words, the reason B10 teams travel to play OOC is because they have to for the most part. The SEC does not.

  The SEC has a distinct advantage in many areas (better coaching, better recruiting), but they also have a current system that benefits them and will always give them the benefit of the doubt over a team with a similar resume from another conference.

  I am guessing you are basing your preference due to name recognition other than entertainment value. It is amazing to me the number of people who think that way.

  I'd call it tradition instead of name recognition. I also prefer great defense to razzle dazzle offense, although Boise did play really tough defense last year. I guess I would take two power house schools with lots of tradition over the best game and up and comer is going to play this year. Alabama won the title last year, and Penn State is traditionally good, so I would rate that game higher.

  This is correct. I didn't think any of the idiotic Big10 fans understood this, but obviously there are some that do.

  Coming from a fan of a school that took 100+yrs to win their FIRST major title in a major sport...that really hurts!

  For the people who say the SEC doesnt travel. Look up all the OOC games in the last 7 years. You might be surprised to see how much the SEC "does" travel. Alot of games vs. Big 12 and Pac 10. On top of that, there are plenty of good teams and conferences on the east coast and in the south. Why do they "have to" go up North? Its not cold in Aug-Oct up north like how people say and most OOC games are played EARLY in the year.

  Lot of talk going on from Florida fans whose team isnt even on the list. Because their biggest game is against Florida State..lol.
  
  The LSU game.. I dont think its that big, just because I expect WVU to be horrible next year.
  Same for the North Carolina game...its North Carolina, come on.
  Alabama and PSU..I expect Alabama to beat PSU by a couple TD, especially since PSU will be breaking in a new QB. But with the defense it could be closer and maybe swing PSU's way.
  
  I would like some of the schools to come up here in November. But thats really hard to do since the OOC is usually at the beginning of the season. JMO I think a Nat'l Championship should be played up North outside one year. Both teams would be playing on the same field. I believe the NFL is going to do it for the Super Bowl in a couple years. And dont even give me that crap about ticket sales.

  Why in November? It's rarely that cold in November.

  coming from a fan who has seen OSU win ZERO national titles in basketball and 1 controversial National Title in football, in his life time. Florida's won 5 in the last 14 years...that really hurts!

  So there's absolutely no reason why Ohio State or another Big Ten team shouldn't play at LSU in late August in the middle of a Saturday afternoon.

  I never said they shouldnt...its hot in Ohio in August...just like it is in Southern Cal and Austin, where the Buckeyes have been the past few years.

  I would personally love to see, any team from the SEC come up to BIG 10 country, around late november, when its freezing rain, sometimes snowing, and come out with a win. But the sad reality is, they won't. The teams from the SEC will NEVER come up here to play, EVER.

  This excuse has spread like the plague around Big10 country the last 20 years. Maybe the Big10 will return to the top in another 20 years.
  tOSU has 9 players from Florida. Do they only play the first 8 games ? Does Michael Brewster get his ass stomped in Nov.?

  SEC schools aren't the only ones who are "afraid" to play in "big ten country." USC hasn't traveled to South Bend in November since 1959. They threatened to end the series if the game at Notre Dame wasn't moved from late Nov/early December. I would like to see the game played in November, but I'm not gonna bash USC because of it. It just seems like Big 10 fans (bucknuts) have a hard on for the SEC.

  I didn't call them afraid at all did I? I just was pointing out that it isn't just the SEC that doesn't travel north in November. Like I said, I would like to see the game played around the same time of the year each season like it was when the rivalry started. I don't think that qualifies as bashing or saying they are afraid.
