Cornell

FootwedgeOne of the teams to ever come out of the Ivy league. I think they get an 8 seed or better.
Wonder when the last time an Ivy Leage team actually won a game in the dance. I think Princeton beat an old man Thompson Georgetown team as a 15 seed couple of decades ago. -
Azubuike24Princeton beat UCLA and Pennsylvania beat Nebraska in the 90's.
-
MulvaI don't see them getting anything better than a 10 seed, and an 11 or 12 is more likely. They're definitely solid though.
-
darbypitcher22From what I've seen they're one of the teams from the mid-majors that people are picking to make noise. Them and Northern Iowa seem to be generating the most buzz
-
reclegend2216th seeded Princeton actually lost to Thompson's Alonzo Morning-led Georgetown club in 1989, 50 to 49, in what was the closest 16-vs-1 call in the history of the NCAA Tournament.
But, as Az said, the Yoda and the Tigers did take out defending champ UCLA as a 13 seed in 1996. -
reclegend22Right now, I'm impressed with William & Mary. The Tribe has already proven this season to be a tough out, walking into Maryland and Wake Forest and earning victories and losing by nine at then top ten-ranked Connecticut in a much closer game than single digits even indicates.
They're losing by 10 right now to Old Dominion, a team that sas seemed to have had W&M's number this season, but they have a great cast of shooters that could be deadly in NCAA style basketball. If they can get back into this game and win the CAA, I like the Tribe's chances for an upset next week.
At the same time, Old Dominion has a nice team as well. The CAA continues to be strong. -
Laley23The Big Red have some size with talent. Jeff Foote is a 7 footer and Ryan Wittman is 6-7 and is one of the best shooters in the country.
Their whole front line has pretty decent size and they have a TON of seniors. I got to broadcast their game vs Indiana last year (ironic that I was so impressed with Cornell even though IU won that game) they I think they can make some noise. Ryan Wittman has to shoot lights out for that to happen though. -
SportsAndLadyAlmost took down my Jayhawks in Lawrence...they're good, but I see second round at best for them.

darbypitcher22St. Mary's takes away a bubble bid with their win over Gonzaga last night

gorocks99Cornell is a very good team, very senior-laden, and has played against two of the top teams in the country in Kansas and Syracuse, so they won't be intimidated come tournament time. HOWEVA (in my best Stephen A. Smith voice), they got POUNDED by an atrocious Penn team less than a month ago. I mean, they lost by 15. Not a close one. That scares me, that they can lose focus so badly.

Shit happens. I still think Cornell gets an 8th or 9th seed.gorocks99 wrote: Cornell is a very good team, very senior-laden, and has played against two of the top teams in the country in Kansas and Syracuse, so they won't be intimidated come tournament time. Another bracket buster is Utah State. -

Utah State has been my sleeper to the Sweet 16 all year. They have great shooters and as a team they lead the country in FT percentage.Footwedge wrote:
