Horizon League final
-
friendfromlowryTuesday at 9pm, and should be on ESPN since it's a conference final, but I'm not sure if that still works that way.
Hoping it's like my freshmen year at WSU when they beat Butler in the conference final, but we'll see. Butler has pretty much dominated them since.
It'd be nice if WSU could win and the Horizon League puts two teams in the tourney. Let's go Raiders! -
Laley23I REALLY hope Butler loses (as I hope all the tourney locks lose) because the bubble is just pathetic and some of the teams in just straight shouldnt be considered. This would help eliminate some of them lol.

ts1227It is on ESPN according to the Horizon League site

dlazzThere's a bunch of lousy games on Tuesday, so it'll probably be on ESPN. I want WSU to win, but don't think they will...especially AT Butler.

reclegend22Great that this game will be played in Hinkle. Love watching games there.

rugbywrestlerProbably just thinking with my heart but I'm going to take WSU. Butler comes in playing for nothing but a higher seed, whereas the Raiders are playing for their postseason life. From what I've heard Butler is on spring break so there may be a smaller "home" crowd, Wright State on the other hand is paying for 200 students to go to the game. Finally, although neither of the previous meetings have been particularly close, it's usually tough to beat a team 3 times in a season....so I'll take Wright State 62-60!

friendfromlowryGood game WSU - not. It's amazing how every time they face Butler, they run their damn 2-3 zone, and Butler just shoots lights out.
I wish Butler would join a better conference. -

No shit, did Butler even miss a 3? Also Ronnie Thomas, you suck against anything remotely close to decent competition. I think if somehow Wright State could trick a good center into coming here they may actually be able to beat Butler....friendfromlowry wrote: Good game WSU - not. In his defense, he was going up against one of the best (if not the) centers in the league. They were just outplayed on every level. Butler shot lights out, but WSU was giving them everything they wanted, also. They didn't contest anything. The offense looked clueless, obviously (45 points, seriously?). Matt Howard is diving into the stands and they're just standing around watching.rugbywrestler wrote:No shit, did Butler even miss a 3? From what I understand Brownell just got an extension/raise, but I think he needs to find a way to beat Butler before he gains any more support. They've lost their last seven games to them, two of which have been in the tournament, preventing WSU from getting into the NCAA tourney. They're basically paying him to be second best. -
BigdoggButler is very good and will go a long way in the tournament. No shame in getting beat by them, they have two future NBA players on their roster.

I'm not sold. Granted they cleaned up the Horizon League, but that just isn't an accomplishment for them anymore, but maybe more so an expectation. They had some bad losses before conference play, but that was also 2-3 months ago, so who knows. It's hard to analyze a team that hasn't played anyone on their level since December. We'll see how it works out for them on Selection Sunday, but I think sweet sixteen is where their lucks run out -- maybe even before if they have to go up against one of the quicker, more talented Big East teams.Bigdogg wrote: Butler is very good and will go a long way in the tournament.
