Miami up 36-28 with just under 3 to play in the first half. -
ironman02Darnell Dodson is 3-3 from behind the arc for UK.
Miami is 10-16 from three point range in the first half. There's no way they can keep that up.
Miami 39 - UK 36 - Halftime. Looks like the upset bid may not last much longer. -

UK 72 - Miami 70 - Final -
SQ_CraziesWow, what a game by Miami. Shouldn't be held against Kentucky, no one should be surprised about a mid major team playing well anymore. UK got it done, that's the bottom line. Wall starts to build his legacy, living up to the hype so far.

wildcats20And this is why I HATE preseason rankings in basketball more than football. On talent, Kentucky is a top 5 team just like Carolina. But both teams are way too inexperienced to be ranked that high. Plus these guys at UK are learning a brand new offense.
-
GOONx19I'll just say I'm not too happy about tonight. WAY too sloppy on both ends. I know a win's a win, and Miami played great, but to open the season like this isn't too promising. The arena was electric though, and my first game in the E-Rupp-tion Zone was well worth it.

After VMI and Gardner-Webb the last two years, maybe this is progress?GOONx19 wrote: I'll just say I'm not too happy about tonight. WAY too sloppy on both ends. Exactly. Both teams have a load of talent, but they'll most likely experience some growing pains because of how young they are. That said, both squads will be very scary matchups once March Madness rolls around.wildcats20 wrote: And this is why I HATE preseason rankings in basketball more than football. Exactly. I wouldn't want to play either team late in the season and come March. Kentucky will be fine under Cal, I don't think he'll win a title there, but FF's are coming back to Lexington.ironman02 wrote:

Laley23Im not shocked when mid majors play well against the top teams. But I am shocked that Miami was able to play well the entire 40 minutes. I expected it to be close at half and UK to pull away the last 10 minutes or so. Just didnt happen that way.

reclegend22Because of the Duke game I wasn't able to catch most of this one, but this must have been a great game. I know the final four minutes were. (On a side note, I love that Fox Sports Net on Dish over the past few years has started to pick of FSN South and other alternate stations on the regular. This hasn't always been the case.)
I have to admit I was pulling for Charlie Coles and Miami, but Wall looked stellar, as predicted. What a way to start his career in Lexington. Starting it off with a buzzer beater was a smart idea, especially considering UK's CRAZY fans
Like I've said before, I'm glad UK basketball is back. It's not the same without them. Good for the game. -
hoops23Where the hell is AZ at and why hasn't he made it over here yet?

This was my reply in the other thread about this game. I haven't had a chance to watch the entire thing yet though.LTrain23 wrote: Where the hell is AZ at and why hasn't he made it over here yet?
"Haha, I was actually at the Blue Jackets game but I was following it the entire time on my phone. I was definitely a little nervous. Then again, as a casual Miami supporter (lots of family went there, know a lot of people within the athletic department), I won't ever doubt a Charlie Coles coached team. He has given UK problems in the past with vastly inferior teams."
Hopefully the young Cats can learn from it. Glad to finally be back on an active CBB forum! -
PrescottWas the 3 point shooting of Miami a result of poor perimeter defense or just a great shooting night for Miami? 15/26 is pretty solid!!
-
SQ_CraziesGood shooting from what I could see. I didn't watch the whole game though.
