    That is a joke.
No kidding lol That has to be blatant hatred right there, IMO.

    Garbage? 16, 12 and 5, you're clueless.

if you look at the map for national player of the year, Turner won every Big Ten state. Pretty much everything other than Kansas west of the mississippi voted Wall. The poll results are more likely a reflection of tv exposure. How many times has OSU been on national TV compared to Kentucky? In the grand scheme of things, these types of polls don't really matter as fans aren't the ones who will be ultimately deciding the POY.

Good point. I just checked out the map. It may have a lot to do with exposure. It's a good thing fans don't vote on awards like these.

Of course stinky nasty would think Hill should be in the game at all.

Lighty, Buford and Diebler were every bit as important as Turner tonight.

Hill got in when he should, the last minute when he could do no harm.

How do they determine the #1 seed in the Big Ten tourney when there is a tie for the title?

its from 2008 but I assume its the same? Head to head records are first tie breaker. OSU is combined 2-1 vs Purdue and Michigan State. Sparty is 1-2. Purdue is 1-2. OSU will have the #1 seed if there is a 3 way tie.

Unfortunately, espn.com has failed to recognize Mark Titus' trillion tonight against Illinois. I think they credited it to Zisis instead.....This is absolutely unacceptable :(

Great win for the Buckeyes and they are really carrying some great momentum into the Big Ten tourney and hopefully that will continue into the NCAA tourney. The Buckeyes have the majority of the pieces needed to compete for a national championship. They have the best player in all of college basketball, they have an assassin from beyond the arc, and they have one of the best defensive specialists in the country. The only deficiencies are the big man (even though Lauderdale is playing much better) and their depth. Irregardless, I look for the Buckeyes to have a great run!

Had a blast at the game last nite. Big crowd and they were very into the game. When OSU went on a run in the firstl half..the place was rocking. GREAT atmosphere last nite in the Schott!!

The Dispatch did as well....I wondered when I saw the box score in the paper this morning.

Whatever dude, you're one of the most clueless posters on this board. I don't even know why I'm going to waste my time replying to you.

Compared to normal Turner, he was. Illinois had a great game plan against him and really frustrated him on offense...forced him into some really bad shots and some TO's. Illinois' defensive pressure on him really caused ET to start to press himself on offense. ET didn't finish well around the basket and didn't knock down his signature 'stop and pop' jumper from 11 feet out. He began pressing so much that he was shooting into double and triple teams, at times. Luckily, Diebler and Lighty picked up the slack for him.

Like we were saying, you know Turner is really really good when 16, 12, and 5 is considered an off game for him. He simply wasn't as prolfic as normal. He got an easy basket on that amazing save by Lighty on the attempted oop. And he took and made two 3's, which isn't a normal part of his game. One of those came with a minute left in the game and the outcome already decided. You figure all those in and he was pretty fortunate to score the 16 that he did.

No, been to many games this year. Definately the loudest I had been to this year. Probably not the loudest I have ever heard it though. But it was still great. Not quite sold out, few open area way up top on the ends. Student sections were great last nite.

Ill defateinly played good defense on Turner. But I will also note, this was one of the WORST OFFICIATED games I have seen. They were hanging, handchecking and banging on Turner the entire nite. On the other end, Turner had a couple bumps...boom, quick whistle. I don't know what it is, but he definately doesn't get many calls going his way. Matta was very close to getting a "T" and the crowd was all over the officials. Of course, when Hightower is there...you know what to expect. Sadly, he was the best of the three!!

As for Turner..he was "off" a little bit last nite. I mean, he didn't shoot as well. But he still did the other things that make him who he is. 12 rbs, 6 asst. And, his defense was pretty solid for most of the evening. Just because you don't shoot well, doesn't mean you are garbage. It happens to the best. But Ill shut off the lane big time. But by doing so...it left open shots/lanes for the others. Pick your poison.

Officiating was piss poor. They let them play and get chippy for a while, then started calling every little touch foul.

And it wasn't the fact that ET missed shots. It's that he was taking those shots against double and triple teams. He was pressing big time because of the defensive effort by Illinois. Can't fault a player like him to keep driving and shooting, but I thought some of the shots he put up were ill advised, which is uncharacteristic of him. He also didn't do very good finishing around the basket, like on some of his drives...which you rarely see with him.

how does Hightower get EVERY SINGLE home game for the Buckeyes, and almost all the away games as well--does he live in Columbus?

I agree. And being at the game, you could tell he was frustrated a little bit. But his frustration was at the officials more then anything. And again, you were right, its rare to see that in him. As far as finishing..I agree...although the size of Tillman bothered him a little bit as well. But it also had to do with the amount of traffic in the lane when he drove. But again, he was mostly unselfish and kicked it out more times then not as well.
Turner was far from not good last nite. He has just set the bar so high because of the season he is having, and his consistancy has been amazing all year. So when he shoots 7-16 (which isnt' exactly terrible), it "looks" like an off game for him.

We are going to have to disagree about that. I was in the student section, it wasn't the best I had been apart of as far as OSU student sections go. And as typical, no one over the age of 23 realized that you are allowed to sustain noise for more than 10 seconds at a time.

The knock people always had against OSU was that the students weren't into it at basketball games. Well now they are for sure. Its time for the rest of the arena to follow suit.

I said, as far as this year, to the games I had been at. Yes, I have seen better. But last nite the crowd was VERY good in the entire place I thought. And the students are bandwagon fans. Besides Purdue, I'll gaurantee that was the largest student section of the year. I have been to many this year, when the student section was POORLY attended.
  • CinciX12
Oh I agree that was the best attended game by students I had seen as well. I thought you were talking about noise.

The students came because of the free t-shirts they could get. Anyone want a XXL club tril shirt by the way? I'm not planning on gaining that much weight before that shirt is no longer cool haha.
