Plus he makes his calls with such arrogance it drives me crazy.
The worst part is he is often paired with Steve Welmer, who for my money, is the best referee in college basketball.
Wasn't Valentine the 3rd official!? We all know how much Knight loves him! lol Hightower and Valentine together is just flat out scarey!
Yep, Valentine, Hightower, and Bert Smith

OSU seemed disinterested. I guess these kind of efforts happen this late in the season. Turners ability to create for himself separates him from most college players. The baseline jumper he hit after going behind his back was nasty and unstoppable. Buford was pretty good all game, except for a couple of ill-advised shots. Lauderdale had an above average game, but Lighty and Diebler couldn't get into the flow.

A win is win,but this was not great basketball.

True...but its always a good sign when you don't play your best basketball, yet go on to win by double digits. That wouldn't have happened the past couple of years.

Lauderdale played very well today....but that was Michigan who has no post game. He's going to have to be a beast come March...

Evan Turner will be a poor mans LeBron James in the NBA.. I hope he goes somewhere that he can initiate the offense.

^^LOL--I don't know if "poor" is the right word to describe ET once he starts getting that NBA paycheck :p

Not sure, I didnt get home in time to watch the game. I dont think Welmer was there today though (I think he has Kansas - OK St today) just pointing out how much I hate when Welmer gets Hightower. Just takes over his great officiating with crap.

And yes....Valentine is adored by Knight :D

As much as I would love Evan to stay one more year, he almost has to go. I'm not sure if his stock can get any higher. Almost a guarantee top 3 pick and with the recruiting class coming in next year, it may hurt his stats because he won't be ask to do as much.

If Ohio State makes a run this year and Evan do decide to come back, then I guarantee the Buckeyes will be preseason #1 in the country. With all 5 starters back, top recruiting class, and the best player in the nation, what other team can top that?

It was a great atmosphere today. Not the greatest game but a win is a win especially in the Big 10. Hopefully the Bucks can shoot better from the FT line in the Big 10 Tourney and the Big Dance, especially Lighty!! It's crazy seeing those numbers by Turner when it didn't even "feel" like he was that close to a triple double which only makes him so much fun to watch! I'd be nit picking on Turner's game but the ONLY flaws I see in his game is his outside shooting as well as his FT % and IF somehow he came back next year to improve on those this team next year will be very fun to watch! Go Bucks!

To comment on a couple previous points.

    1. If can only do OSU more harm than good if they make a deep run in the Big 10 tourney. They should win out in the regular season, and if so, they are likely a 2-3 seed. Obviously a 2-3 seed is basically the same (same side of bracket), but a 4 could be scarier because they would have to play the #1 seed.

    2. Turner just seems like one of those guys that loves college and really wants to be fully ready for the NBA. He made a comment this week that he spoke to Mullens and Mullens told him how hard it was. With that said, Matta has to sell him that he's NBA ready. He's a top 5 pick this year and won't ever go any higher. But he just might have higher aspirations in college than most.

    1. Well....I don't disagree...but if they happen to get the Friday NCAA game, the extra day of rest would be enough IMO. That would give them 5 days, plenty of time IMO. On top of that, in 3 way tie for Big Ten, OSU gets #1 seed, which is a bye in first round I believe.
We can all wish...but you know they will be going into that to do nothing but win it.

    2. Turner quoted in todays Dispatch when asked if he will leave for NBA:
" It's all based on how we're going to do this year-the next two games and then March. If I don't get all I want out of college....then I am going to be back for another year."

Turner is a guy who truely loves college basketball, and college life. I do NOT think it would be smart for him to come back....but with the kind of young man he is...it wouldn't surprise me at all if he did come back.

OSU already has a first-round bye locked up. Top five teams get that round off, while the games are 6-11, 7-10 and 8-9.

I know that mathematically, Wisconsin can tie the Bucks at 13-5 (if they win their final two games and OSU loses to slumping Illinois), but I don't know who'd get the tiebreaker as they split their games. So, OSU possibly could finish as low as fourth and open against (most likely, if not definitely) Illinois.

But in all likelihood, they'll be playing the winner of a Thursday game.

I disagree. If he is enjoying college then he should stay. About the same amount of money will be there 365 days from now for him. He will never have to work a day in his life after his first three year contract is over with. He has a chance to go from STAR at OSU to LEGEND if he stays his senior year and that title will pay him millions over the rest of his lifetime.

BTW, those who worry about OSU being "tired" at seasons end.....Tues is OSU last game. Their next game wouldn't be till the following Friday I believe.....thats 9 days!! I am sure Matta will give them some good rest to get their legs back. Even if they do make a run in Big Ten...that 9 days will go a LONG way. The OSU big ten "bye" kinda came at a good time for OSU this year considering their lack of depth.
