Jim Harbaugh

UC is making the changes he wants. The clauses linking the construction of a practice facility to a smaller buyout were taken out at Kelly's request when he signed his latest contract extension. The fields will be done by next fall and as the article says formal architectural studies are being conducted to renovate and expand Nippert Stadium. Michigan won't take a serious run at Brian Kelly unless the administration up there completely reverses their collective opinions of him. they didn't like what they found when they initially looked into him after Carr was let go. As for Notre Dame it could happen but it's unlikely at this point. There isn't even a whisper of contact at this point between Notre Dame and Kelly's people. Brian Kelly is throughly enjoying building UC's program, he has the entire city in his spell and is in a better situation right now on the field than what he would walk into at Notre Dame.

Well, ND better hurry as Stanford is currently working on a contract extension with Harbaugh.
Right, because we all know how airtight a contract extension can be...

If Harbaugh has any interest at all in heading to another school, you can believe there will be a provision to protect his interest. He has the upper hand in this negotiation.

You've never heard the Woody Hayes' quote in re: to going for 2 against Michigan? Really?
sure I have--it's just that when I initially read S&L's post I thought she was comparing the two--brain cramp, dude!!!
    2 things:

    1) You call yourself an Ohio State fan, but can't recognize one of the most recognizable statements by the most most well known coach Ohio State has ever had?

    2) Did you intentionally put 'she'? If so, you are a fucking loser.

You can add Jim Harbaugh to the list of fantastic coaches that were born in Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio.

A few of us ND fans have been talking about how much we want Harbaugh in South Bend for the last week or so. Not sure what the odds are but I'd love for him to be the next head football coach at Notre Dame.

2.) care to tell us what a Will,Sam and Mike linebacker are? :p

Pete Carroll will remember this and he will embarrass Harbaugh if he stays at Stanford.

hopefully Harbaugh signs the extension and builds Stanford back up and challenges Pete Carroll and the Trojans every year for the next decade or so

you don't have to play to know what they mean - they're referred to in just about any game by commentators

i know i'm young, but was stanford ever "up" to begin with?

they were a strong program in the late 60's early 70's... they beat the Supersophs in the Rose Bowl by 10 points behind Jim Plunkett

Yet another horrific memory brought back to life. I remember watching it.
One more Rose Bowl disaster against the West Coast California teams and Jim Tressel can't even be blamed for it. I believe it was 27-17 and I still have nightmares about it.

I heard Pete Carroll's take today "It's in the past. Will I forget it? No. But, it's in the past."

First off, what the hell does that mean? Either it's in the past, or you will not forget. It can't be both.
Secondly, if Stanford is up by 27 points, there are a lot of things I'd remember before that 2-point attempt. Like how they got to be up 27 to begin with, and I'd try to do something to prevent that from happening again.

I don't really care for Petey, but I am with him here. You have to figure that big win was an anomaly. USC should and usually does beat Stanford (for the most part). So when Stanford pulls off the win they go and start trying to run the score up. Act like you've been there before Harbaugh. What goes around, comes around. I think it is safe to say that the next time Carroll and Trojans can run the score up, they will.
  • j_crazy
I'm all for Pete winning by 65 next time they win. But like I said, I'd worry about rubbing it in as an after thought. My focus would be getting to that point.
  • vball10set
you're right,jordo--with Stanford winning two out of the last three, they should be used to it..and as long as he's at Stanford,Harbaugh will continue to abuse whiney Petey

USC has the edge in the series 59-26 (with 3 ties) haha. So no Stanford really does not have a history of beating USC.

You bring up the fact that Stanford has won 2 of 3. Interestingly, since 2002, Stanford is 2-6 against SC.
  • vball10set
has Harbaugh been there since '02???
btw,I wonder if we should bring up graduation rates, admissions requirements, the Reggie Bush saga, etc. :p
