Ohio State vs Penn State 2/24

Buford did some things that make me question his basketball IQ. I'm also seeing a little too much cockiness out of Turner. He gets nonchalant with the ball and that leads to turnovers.

Lighty was fantastic tonight and Turner turned it on in the second half. This is a good win, because the Buckeyes escaped with a victory.

Agree. Buford goes from looking great...to completely disappearing on the court. Not just in points, but everywhere.
Turner does turn it over at times...but his positives far outweigh the negatives. But he does get a little sloppy at times.
But he is lights out in the last 5 min. He has a great feel, and KNOWS when to take over.
OSU got lazy when up by 17, and give PSU credit in coming back. Had me a little nervous there. But OSU did what they needed to do.
BTW, how bad was Simmons off the bench? Ouch...

He had only 3 TO's tonight. Considering he touches the ball for the majority of the time on every possession, that's getting it done.

A little too much cockiness? The guy is the definition of a team player and he has the confidence to step up every time his team needs him.

Yea, and the turnover at about the 3 minute was careless to say the least. IMO, his cockiness is reflected in his hand gestures and head shaking after he takes someone. It is not needed and it serves no purpose.
I would like to see him tone it down a little.

I really don't see the relationship between cockiness and being a team player. He's a great team player. I've never said anything to the contrary.

I think your going overboard on the cockiness. Is Turner cocky? A little bit...definately no more then anyone else I have seen.
And when your that good...you can get away with being a little cocky.;)
Other then that, Turner is nothign but pure class in interviews, in front of TV, the guy NEVER talks about himself. I honestly don't think it gets any better then Evan Turner as far as the complete package..on and off the court.

Well it seems tonight Buford was the one that was getting Cocky and maybe a little nutty.

Are you like 65? I haven't seen Turner do anything to make me think 'man, that dude needs to tone it down.' You have to love the emotion and excitement he plays with. So what if he gets excited after one of his many amazing plays? Guys half the caliber the player he is do it all the time.

And about the relationship between cockiness and being a team player: I've seen many cocky players, both at the pro and college level, totally alienate their teammates on the floor. Turner is a great, great player but he doesn't let his talent and confidence get in the way of involving all of his teammates, even though none of them really come close to him as far as talent goes. He is so unselfish, which makes him an even greater spectacle to watch.

By the way, I don't see the relationship between 'cockiness' and being nonchalant/careless with the ball. It's not like he's out there hot dogging or anything like that leading to turnovers. He has the ball in his hands like 60% of the time and is forced to create many of his own shots....so of course turnovers are going to happen. And don't forget, Turner's handle hasn't been that great until this year. The few turnovers he does commit are more of a result of him still improving his handle and adjusting to a new position.

It was a little more than your run of the mill nut grabbing. After fouling out, camera focused on him sitting on bench, grabbing nuts while looking towards the student section and pointed to the scoreboard. This was following the students did the left, right, left, right, SIT DOWN thing as he made his way to the bench. I got a laugh out of it. I wouldn't be surprised to see it show up on youtube and deadspin sometime soon.

NO, I honestly didn't see it. And I thought u were talking about Turner....I didn't see Buford go to the bench.

Buford fouling out was hilarious. Goes to the bench, grabs his Gatorade, grabs his nuts, points to the scoreboard, and nods his head at the student section. Then Hill told him to stop lol

Nah, I'm 75. Back in the day we didn't put young whippersnappers acting like they are all that. We put them on their ass.

Michael Jordon was "cocky". Larry Bird was "cocky". Magic Johnson was "cocky". Shaq is "cocky." Lebron is cocky". Wade is "cocky." Kobe is "cocky". Do I need to go on?

Hahaha.....I agree that these guys weren't the best examples to use. There's a huge difference between cocky and confident. However, I don't think Turner appears cocky. He is a very respectable young man.

Why must anyone even respond to Big Gain. He's proven himself to be a LIAR with his comment saying that Etwan Moore plays for Wisconsin.

He's a neophyte and nothing else.

    Care to justify that?

Hey jackoff, I said I didn't see it. Let me spell it out, I LITTERALLY DID NOT SEE IT LAST NITE. Is that hard to understand? I wasn't trying to justify anything. And if you read above, I thought you were talking about Turner. I didn't see when Buford went to the bench..was probably talking a leak or something! Do I need to justify my bladder issues with you now? lol
