UK goes down tonight @ Mississippi State

ironman02Wall leaves the door open...
-
reclegend22Oh damn. Uh, nice.
-
ironman02And here comes the trash being thrown on the floor by MSU fans.
-
RiverRat13Stay classy.
-
reclegend22I'd throw my seat on the court. MSU got a royal screwing.
-
wildcats20I don't agree with what the fans are doing, but it's not like the UK players are helping their cause right now. Just shake hands and get the hell off the floor.
-
Azubuike24Cal getting pissed as stuff comes from the stands as the Cats walk out. Ouch.
-
Laley23Wow, great game. Too bad that officiating in OT was so pathetic. But never an excuse for shit being thrown. I dont mind the chants and cussing, etc. However, throwing stuff is unacceptable.
But wow, I still cant believe the 4 crucial calls in OT (ONLY 1 was debatable. The air-ball foul on John Wall. -
september63I wont look back at previous posts. Kudos to Miss St. Coach Stansbury for sitting a starter tonight for discipline reasons. I wonder If Urban Meyer watched this game? Urban likes to sit guys in games where they are favored by 30.
-
sportswizuhrdCalipari and Jeanine Edwards blaming the fans right before the interview. When there are three players stopped and looking into the crowd, its not just the fans faults.
-
wildcats20You don't need to be walking off the floor waving your hands and shit at fans that are already pissed.
-
friendfromlowryI haven't watched too many Kentucky games, but does Wall/Kentucky get that type of favorable treatment in all their wins? Absolutely incredible. The refs had to of had money on that game.
This is what is making sports (especially college basketball) more difficult to watch, is how blatantly bad the officiating is. -
Laley23
This. Throwing shit is bad. But why invite it like Cousins and Wall were doing. Its tough to feel bad if you get decked in the face with a bottle when you are waving your hands in a "throw it" motion. Just walk into the tunnel and off the court.wildcats20 wrote: I don't agree with what the fans are doing, but it's not like the UK players are helping their cause right now. Sad way to end what was a fantastic basketball game. Congrats to UK on that win. That was a big game, no matter how you spin it. -

I think this was done in response to the fans throwing stuff. I mean one of their teammates got 100+ calls and 1000+ text messages with racial slurs attached. I'd gloat a little too...wildcats20 wrote: You don't need to be walking off the floor waving your hands and shit at fans that are already pissed. -
Azubuike24Haha I have to laugh at the people who are insinuating the UK players asked for it. That's how this group is, they are good, they are loose, they are always smiling.
-
bartsimpsonOnce again, a top teams gets given a game they should have lost. No excuse for officiating that bad when it involves the #2 team in the country on national tv. The SEC should be embarassed for hiring such incompetent officials.

So that makes it ok to provoke people who are already pissed???Azubuike24 wrote: Haha I have to laugh at the people who are insinuating the UK players asked for it. That's how this group is, they are good, they are loose, they are always smiling.
Just get off the floor and celebrate with class in the locker room. -
Laley23
Id gloat and talk shit and the like. UNTIL shit was thrown. Then Id get the fuck outta there. Im not tryin' to get smoked with a bottle in my head lol.Azubuike24 wrote:

Being loose and always smiling means looking at the opponents bench and talking crap to the players and coaches? Wall did this. Pretty sure it was before the bottle throwing.Azubuike24 wrote: Haha I have to laugh at the people who are insinuating the UK players asked for it. Azubuike24That is how they act after every game. I've rarely seen DeMarcus Cousins or John Wall without a big smile on their face. However, this is game 26 and the first time bottles and objects have been thrown at them. You do the math. Only Kentucky, who most people dislike, would people actually claim they asked for that treatment. Teams and players act like this at every game...

It's hard NOT to smile when you get the benefit of bullshit calls a few times.Azubuike24 wrote: Haha I have to laugh at the people who are insinuating the UK players asked for it. That's how this group is, they are good, they are loose, they are always smiling. -
Azubuike24Listen, I'm not a UK homer, and there were 2 calls in OT that were to UK's benefit, but it wasn't the difference in the game.
As for Wall talking smack, we can argue this until we are blue in the face, but again, it's a standard thing that happens at hundreds of games a year. Bottle throwing doesn't...one doesn't justify the other.
I won't defend talking smack, it's not my style, but it happens with players all the time. -
Laley23
See, im pretty much with you on this. I have no problem with talking shit to fans, players, whoever. But once stuff is thrown what goes through your mind that says "Im going to stand here"? I mean I would be in the tunnel so damn fast, lol. But maybe thats just me. I have no problem with the talking smack, just dont understand why you would continue to do so when people are throwing objects at you hahaAzubuike24 wrote: Listen, I'm not a UK homer, and there were 2 calls in OT that were to UK's benefit, but it wasn't the difference in the game.

royal_kTalking smack does equate to getting bottles thrown at you. Very poor behavior by some of the MS fans.

Azubuike24Anyway, it was a good game. It's unfortunate the bottle throwing will become the headline, and I'm sure some people will try to spin that UK's cockiness deserved such treatment. I mean ESPN glorified students stealing DeMarcus Cousins' cell phone numbers and people using racial slurs toward him. They went as far to even show students with his number programmed in their phone. So when the guys tomorrow (Mike & Mike, PTI, etc...) start debating whether the UK players deserved this treatment because of how cocky they are, I won't be surprised.
