Personal reasons? Did he hit you or something?

lol no. Just the lack of support he shows his high school alma mater.

I believe that the Alumni Assoc is now a part of the University. I think I read where Archie is now an SVP of Ohio State rather than the President of the Alumni Assoc but is still in charge of the Alunmi Assoc.

technically not an employee of the University until July....technically....
I see no problem with this, your ranking does not always show where you will end up.

Doesn't that always happen against Mooney? lol

So now we've got another Carter, Graham, and Griffin.

Tim Spencer's son is a Senior WR from Illinois (I think). He is interested in OSU and has an offer.

Some folks underestimated his dad, and that worked out pretty well. :)

    Which game did you see?

I saw the game in Week 2 and while he didn't break any huge runs or anything(its real hard to do that against Mooney) I thought he gave a gritty effort and performance

I seen the state championship game. He was the best player from DeSales, but didnt do anything to spectacular in my opinion I guess. But you guys are right, Mooney might have been the best team in the whole state last year.

Wow. Surprising. I have covered him over the past two seasons. Not OSU caliber. Wow......Politics lol

GEEESH....the only person in the world outside the state of Michigan who doesn't like Archie.

Good luck to Adam, look forward to seeing him on the field.

He could walk on to save a scholarship but, he would not get everything the other players get without the football scholarship. Also I am not sure if he would go for free as I think it is discounted but that is most likely only for tuition not rent and so on. His dad is a huge reason he is going to OSU but that does not mean the kid can not play. Both Henderson and Anderson are not going to OSU IMO. Lane is going to get Henderson to sign and Anderson does not have the grades nor the talent to take such a huge risk on him. Also OSU is loaded secondary players and can pick and choose who they want with their recent success in sending guys to the NFL in the secondary.

Coming from a Michigan fan, you don't want Anderson. He does not have the size to play big time college ball IMO. He reminds me of UM's Cissiko or however you spell his name. A handful off the field and no where near the physical size nor strength to play in the Big ten. I have no idea how either got a 5 star rating.

Also Jim Tressel is a man of class and it shows by offering him the scholarship. Great guy and who knows, He might be like his daddy. I hope not.

Come on people....are you really that blind. The only reason this kid was signed was the fact that he was Archie son. Seems to me they just lost a scholorship for the next 4 years.
  • tbdbitl_osu
I wish him the best of luck....alot of you are really hating on this young man and are jealous....If he wasn't OSU caliber he wouldn't be going...Sometime there are some dark horses....

Article in the Dispatch this morning:

I'm not a believer in offering scholarships as a favor, but I really like this signing. Even if he's a four year practice squad guy, he's going to be a great locker room guy, work hard and carry on a legacy.

At that level you don't sign a kid unless you think he can help your program and make an impact on the field, in a game situation at some point during the four year process

Troy Smith was listed as a 4 star recruit on Rivals.com and participated in the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp.

    THIS

I hope the kid does well because I want the buckeyes to succeed but let's be honest with ourselves. If this kid name was Christopher McNeal, would Ohio State really let him on the team?

So he made it because of his dad? Who cares. Every player gets a clean slate at the next level--two stars means nothing. Only that he may be more motivated than some 5 star guys. Archie won 2 Heisman's and is a great ambassador for the school--OSU is giving back to him just like he's given back to them. Good opportunity for the kid, hope he takes full advantage and proves people wrong because it would be a great story.

If he was offered by Navy and Air Force he must be a quality kid and both of those schools play very competitive football so I think giving him a scholarship is fine, how many stars you are rated doesn't mean anything.

    Yes it does.
