Notable Games & Discussion 2/10/2010

    America East

Maine at Stony Brook - Battle for first place in the league. Stony Brook leads it, Maine is tied with Vermont for 2nd, a half game back in the loss column. Maine won the first meeting by 6.

    Atlantic 10

Richmond at Rhode Island - Both are 7-2 in the league, with Charlotte having to travel to Dayton, the whole race could become even messier. This is the only meeting between the teams this year.

Charlotte at Dayton - The Flyers are going to have a tough time winning the A-10, but a win over Charlotte gives them another quality W for the NCAA resume.

    ACC

Florida State at Clemson - Two teams sliding as of late, neither has the NCAA's wrapped up. Big game for both to win, especially Clemson at home.

Georgia Tech at Miami - The Canes are pathetic since the ACC games began, while Tech hasn't contended for the title like many thought. Another bubble game, way more important for Miami.

    Mountain West

New Mexico at UNLV - Battle for the top spot in the MWC, for now. UNLV won at The Pit earlier this year. Both are likely NCAA teams, but UNM still has to go to BYU. A win for UNLV here and a win at SDSU, they are likely the MWC champs if they take care of business.

    SEC

Florida at South Carolina - The Gamecocks have had rough luck, but have been one of the toughest SEC teams to play on the road. Florida has been hot lately, and is likely in the NCAA's, but they need to keep it going here with games against Vandy, Tennessee, Xavier, at Mississippi and at Kentucky still remaining. Devan Downey coming off a terrible game in Knoxville, watch out.

Miami nearly blows a 4 point lead in the final 20 seconds, but scores at the end to beat GT by 2.

Dayton smacks Charlotte, 2nd straight blowout home win over a good team for them. Richmond gets a great road win over Rhode Island, 69-67.

And it looks like UConn will be missing the tourney.

Stony Brook whipped on Vermont, BADLY.

Dayton really took care of Charlotte, while Richmond really distanced themselves with the win over Rhode Island.

Miami and Clemson broke streaks and got key wins at home.

Big loss for Florida at South Carolina, the game against Xavier is big this weekend.

UNLV and New Mexico just under way.
