Kansas @ Texas--Monday night
-
SportsAndLadyWho ya got?
I took Kansas +5...so hopefully I win that. -
Azubuike24That line is crazy. Texas looks awful lately. If I can get KU +5 I'll be all over it in the morning. Kansas has so many weapons offensively, and Texas' perimeter defense has been awful.
-
SportsAndLadyYeah did some day drinking yesterday, and one of my friends wanted to bet straight up..I said 10 points, he settled for 5. It was great, I love making bets with people who are drunk.
-
MulvaI think Texas finally shows up to play and wins this one.

slingshot4everKansas 72-66

I think so too.Mulva wrote: I think Texas finally shows up to play and wins this one.
They are a very talented team, just going through a mid-season slump..I think they come back starting tomorrow night all the way to the Final Four. -
Laley23Texas is playing bad right now, but I doubt it matters. Its the biggest game of their year, at home. They are college kids, and will play well tonight.
-
thedynasty1998You just have to think that Texas turns it around tonight.

I agree. They have way too many athletes and depth to continue to struggle like this. ALthough, maybe not enough basketballs to go around possibly. I like Texas in this game since its on their home court.thedynasty1998 wrote: You just have to think that Texas turns it around tonight. -
PrescottIf you can have too much depth, Texas has it. This team also shoots free throws at a 60% rate. Horrible!!

reclegend22Dumb ass Big East officials calling every foul they can even with the game out of reach again. Although, it's certainly not as bad as the display we saw in the Nova-GU game on Saturday.
Sadly, we have missed a lot of the UT-Kansas game and will miss a lot of the first half of Wednesday's Duke-Carolina battle as well because of this bullshit.
When will ESPN learn. As I've stated before, this is my biggest pet peeve. -

I still dont see the big deal of having a 7pm and 915pm game. If the first game is on schedule just send it to the guys in Bristol for 15 minutes!reclegend22 wrote: Dumb ass Big East officials calling every foul they can even with the game out of reach again. ironman02I realize that Kansas is probably the best team in the nation, but Texas just looks AWFUL to me.
Just a few weeks ago, they looked like one of the five best teams in the country. Now they can't really beat anyone. -

Never understood this either. Or if anything, just put it on a split screen.Laley23 wrote:

Laley23Texas looks TERRIBLE. I thought the big game and home crowd would be enough to change the way they are playing....guess not.
-
LeonardoKansas up 72-60 with 51.4 seconds left
-
LeonardoKansas is definitely playing team ball tonight. Seven different players have seven or more points while three scorers on Texas have 23, 21, and 10 points and the next player has three points.
-
Azubuike24Tonight really showed a lot about how bad Texas is playing and how poor Rick Barnes is at coaching.
Kansas is good, but this wasn't a dominant performance. A lackluster performance by Texas...they were NEVER in the game. Couldn't even cut the lead under 10...at ANY point. -
ironman02Off topic a little here, but I was taking a look at the rest of KU's schedule and it got me thinking.
They currently sit at 1993 all-time wins and have seven games left this season. It might be tough to go 7-for-7 down the stretch, but they could reach the 2,000 win plateau by the end of the regular season. I bring this up because they could actually beat Carolina to 2,000 wins, taking second place in the "Race to 2,000" behind Kentucky.
Entering the season, the Jayhawks were 14 wins behind Carolina and it looked like they would have to settle for reaching 2,000 wins after both the Cats and Heels, but now there's some doubt. Carolina is struggling mightily and currently sits at 1,997, still needing three wins to reach 2,000. I'd say it's almost a foregone conclusion that KU will pass Carolina in overall all-time wins by the end of the season, which is what matters most, but I hope that the Heels can somehow manage to beat them to 2,000. I would think that Carolina will somehow find three wins in games against NC State, BC, FSU, and Miami, but who knows.
Anyway, sorry for going off on a strange tangent there. Just thought it was kind of interesting. -

For as much as it may have shown that Texas didn't look good last night, look no further than the Kansas defense. How is a 22-0 run over 11 minutes not a dominating performance. Are you going to try to say that Texas beat themselves for 11 straight minutes.Azubuike24 wrote: Tonight really showed a lot about how bad Texas is playing and how poor Rick Barnes is at coaching.

Do you just not want to admit that KU is the best team in the land in hopes that Kentucky could actually beat us in the tourney? -
