(9) Duke at Boston College
-
reclegend22Not sure what to expect of this one.
BC played Duke tough the first time around in Cameron, mainly because Duke played virtually no interior defense and couldn't shoot. Of the Golden Eagles' 33 first half points in that first meeting (Duke had 38), 30 came from the key. If Mason, Kyle and Lance come to play from the get-go, this shouldn't happen again. Z might also be called upon to provide some length inside.
Duke also shot 8% from three in that night (1-12), and I don't see that happening a second time. But, on the road, who knows which Duke team will show. The Blue Devils dropped their trip to Conte Forum last winter. -
reclegend22This one's on ESPN and will most likely start without most of us watching as Nova-Georgetown still has 23 minutes left in the second half with 40 minutes until Duke's 2:00 EST tip-off. Big East has great basketball, but sometimes these marathons grow tiresome. Hoyas up big, though, 57-41, so we should be OK in regards to OTs. I thought this might be a concern.
-
reclegend22I really hate Big East basketball sometimes. The way these games drag on like 12-round bouts sucks.
ESPN, screw you. -

reclegend22ESPN has always sucked, though, so this is nothing new.
These officials are f'ing stupid. This is my biggest pet peeve in sports. I could throw heavy rocks at ESPN's producers right now. Line 'em up. I'm so angry. -
reclegend22A foul with .2 seconds left? Fuuccckkk offff..

Oh that's right, there is no way Duke can ever be beaten by double digits fairly. Give me a break.ccrunner609 wrote:slingshot4ever wrote: BC by 10+
Now I know Duke is on the road but come on. Not gonna happen unless the refs are paid off. -
reclegend22I know we've had these discussions before, iron, about ESPN and scheduling. So I know you feel my pain
I almost feel like going and taking a nap right now, especially with how bad Duke is shooting and how big a headache I have from yelling earlier. I really need to grow up some more -
burt07I'm getting a bad vibe that this game has bad road loss written all over it. I'm really hoping it doesn't play out that way as I feel this team needs some sort of road confidence leading up to Chapel Hill on Wednesday.
-
burt07And as soon as I say something Duke goes on a nice little run. I take all credit for motivating them haha.
-
reclegend22Those three straight triples after the 0-for-6 start slowly opened this one up. I also like that Jon got a little mean streak there after committing a couple of uncharacteristic turnovers early. Nice three out top, steal for a lay-in and slash through the middle for two. He's a crafty scorer, no doubt about it.
Duke wins this one by 25. -
burt07Lead down to 4 at 37-33 at the under 16 timeout.
-
ironman02BC's shot selection is just disgusting.
Duke hasn't pulled away like I thought they would, but they're gonna win this one. -
Ironman92BC rally soon to make it a nail-biter.
I don't even watch much anymore...can't take it. -
swamisezMason Plumlee commits some pretty ridiculous fouls. Hard to believe this kid is still doing this stuff.
-
swamisez"Where's Dawkins?"
Coach K won't even answer that question anymore
he only says, the best players are on the floor. -
swamisezTrapani is gonna bury a three to make it a one point or tie game
-
swamisezor Reggie Jackson
-
swamisezIce water in Scheyer's veins there.
Great W on the road coming off a short turnaround.
Still atop the ACC, somewhat of a big game on Wednesday. -
reclegend22Wednesday is already making me nervous. I might have to watch ESPN Classic's Duke-North Carolina marathon starting at midnight to calm down a bit and bask in some great moments. The first game being shown is Chris Duhon's coast-to-coast reverse from '04. This thing stretches all the way to after the Super Bowl's kick-off. Pretty impressive. You certainly don't see this for The Red River Rivalry or whatever rivalry some like to claim is most significant in college athletics. Especially not when one of the team's heading into that week's match-up is looking slightly better than an all-star AAU club.
Even on a down year, in terms of one team at least, Duke-North Carolina is THE game. That's what makes me so damn uneasy. A loss to Carolina would be devastating, even if we retained possession of first place for ACC seeding purposes after it. -
swamisezI don't know how you can watch a game where Duke wins by 3 at a pathetic Boston College and not think Carolina has a chance.
They played pretty well at Cassel the other night, will be a real squirmy game at Dean Dome -
georgemc80For the first time in the 26 years I have been following Duke, I really have no idea how this team is going to play one day to the next. Although all games are interesting.....they are also freaking scary.
Still haven't seen some of the once a season games that Duke usually has.....
Losing to a team by 20
Beating a team after trailing by 15
Losing to a team after winning by 15
Beating a team they had no business beating -
reclegend22You could add, Lose a game due to Coach K implementing stall ball and the Marty dunked once so that means he's Drazen Petrovic game ... well I guess the latter once a season game has been retired to Cameron's rafters.
We've already completed the Lose at lowly Florida State, Miami or NC State game and the Make 12 threes with a player scoring 30 and re-entering the national title picture game.
Like clockwork.
