If I were a 5* recruit, I would go to _______
-
Trueblue23This should be fun.
Let's say you are a 5* recruit, position of your choice. You have to take into account early playing time, location, weather, NFL potential, the whole 9 yards.
What position would you be and where would you go? -
thedynasty1998Offensive tackle or DE and would probably go to Florida, USC or UCLA. And yes, I'm a Buckeye fan, but it's hard to beat the location, tradition and coaching staff at those schools.
I saw OT or DE because they don't face the pressure of the QB or RB or almost any other position and seem to be able to play a lot longer than the others who are getting hit more. -
Trueblue23If I were a pro-style QB, I'm going to USC and it's not even close.
-
slingshot4everWell I was a DB back in the day. Given the number of the DBs OSU successfully puts in the NFL and location to hometown Toledo) I would select them.
-
darbypitcher22I'm gonna say I'm playing Center, and I'm going to go to Ohio State. Has produced numerous NFL talents at that position including Nick Mangold and LeCharles Bentley
-
Pick6Strong Safety, OSU. Pretty much the same reason that sling shot said, +they are my favorite team.
Second choice would more than likely be Florida. I've been to Florida and Los Angeles, I like Florida more. -
lhslep134Depending on the position. I would probably play linebacker, so Florida for earlier playing time than here at OSU.
Also Florida if I was a WR.
Any other position I'd probably choose OSU. -
WebFireLinebacker.
My list of considerations would be, in no particular order:
Michigan (this is where my heart is)
USC
Florida
Alabama
Texas
OSU (probably wouldn't choose them being a UM fan, but still have to consider)
Miami FL -
trackandccrunnerI'd be a CB/WR and go to Florida State.
-
sjmvsfscs08I was a 6'2 250lb 4.8 DE. Not good enough to play in anything above the MAC, but hypothetically speaking I'd have played at Notre Dame. A science teacher I once had turned down his Stanford offer to go to Harvard and then immediately quit the team to focus on academics. That route would have been interesting for me too.
-
QuintI would be a LB. . . and I would go to OSU, playing time be damned. . . I'd be one of those guys Tressel offered early and committed immediately. I love OSU more than breathing.

It's hard to throw out the favorite school thing, cause I'm going to Ohio State no matter what to play WR. Early playing time and NFL potential aren't as big of factors- if you're good enough, you'll play and get a chance to go pro.Trueblue23 wrote: This should be fun.

An interesting twist to that- what if you're favorite school doesn't offer you? (I guess you'd have to pretend you're not a 5-star player for this). For me I take a long serious look at coaches and personalities- too many coaches are in it for themselves and could care less about their players' chances at success in life. I'd really like to play for a guy like Mack Brown or Frank Beamer. -

Swamp FoxA really good money manager. I would want to make sure I never had to worry about anything financial again, as well as assuring my family the same guarantees. If you are that high up in the draft, you'll be attracting millions and I want to set my financial priorities and strategy before I find out where and what position(s) I will be playing. At least have a very good idea of what I want to do with my money so it isn't frittered away carelessly and irresponsibly. As far as a position is concerned, doesn't every kid dream about throwing the winning touchdown pass in the Super Bowl? As for me, I think I'd like to be the punter, kick off guy and field goal guy. Self preservation, along with the money, is very important to me. I wouldn't care who drafted me.
