Lakota West All-America football linebacker Jordan Hicks will announce his college choice this Friday, January 29 at a press conference held at the school at 12:30 p.m.
Hicks’ final list includes three universities (in alphabetical order) – Florida, Ohio State, and Texas.
The event will be held in the auxiliary gymnasium located near the front entrance of the school. -
devil1197Texas imo

fish82My sources placed discreetly inside the hallowed halls of West concur. He's headed for Austin.
-
sleeperHe'll probably end up at Ohio State, because that's where you go to win National Championships, BCS bowls games, and get drafted to the NFL to make the big $$$.
-
jhay78Where's vballset?
I'm holding you to your prediction -
SpeedofsandI have a 2/3 chance of winning. I think he likes Florida's new staff on defense. Losing Charlie Strong was big, time has brought George Edwards right from the NFL, and we still have McCarney and Heater. New LB's coach is Ohio native DJ Durkin. Look at all the opportunities Spikes had to make plays. Hicks would be featured in a group of players that dominate. If Florida gets Hicks, it is the best defensive recruiting class ever. OSU would be great for him too. It fits Hicks' style all around. Texas is in the Big 12, they all have sorry defenses.
-
thedynasty1998I've read some of the stuff on here about him, but haven't followed him closely.
If he did pick OSU, would it be a shocker? Or are all 3 schools considered on level ground according to the so called experts? -
WriterbuckeyeWhy would someone being an Ohio native play into his decision? I don't believe Hicks is from Ohio, but moved there a few years ago.
In any case, I'll be genuinely shocked if he picks Ohio State.
He wasn't brought up with OSU being THE school to play for, like most Ohio recruits. -
SportsAndLadyHe better choose OSU...or i'm egg'ing his house
-
tbdbitl_osuWould love to see him as a Buckeye but if we don't get him it's not a huge loss the Buckeyes are very deep at LB....but if he is smart he goes down to Texas and plays in warm weather....and plays for the best Defensive Coordinator in football Will Muschamp....

I'm here,buddy--he's a Buckeyejhay78 wrote: Where's vballset?

vdubb96I disagree with Muschamp being the best d coordinator in the country. He's one of the tops for sure but to say he's the outright best is a little much. I know it's a homer call to say Heacock and Fickell but I like my chances with them two running the defense.
-
SpeedofsandHicks will be mad if he goes to Texas, then Richt has another bad year, gets canned and Musch becomes Uga coach for as much $$$ as he is waiting for at UTx
-
supermanHas Urban offered to die for him yet?

Ya I am going to have to disagree with this as well. Don't get me wrong, he is top 3 for sure.tbdbitl_osu wrote: Would love to see him as a Buckeye but if we don't get him it's not a huge loss the Buckeyes are very deep at LB....but if he is smart he goes down to Texas and plays in warm weather....and plays for the best Defensive Coordinator in football Will Muschamp....

This link is to OSU's stats from last year comparable to the country. If you look at the defensive stats you can see that OSU was in the top 7 in each of the following: Rushing Defense, Passing Effiency Defense, Total Defense, and Scoring Defense.
If you click on Texas, it pulls up there stats as well. They were outside the top 10 in 2 of those categories. Yes, they did lead the nation in rush defense, but how many teams in the Big 12 rush the ball more than 25 times a game?
Just some food for thought. -
QuintI think you guys are comparing apples and oranges. . . two totally different conferences. I think Monte Kiffin is the best D-Coordinator in college football.
-
darbypitcher22I'll be shocked if he decided to become a Buckeye.... I'll love it for sure, dont' get me wrong, but I can see him wearing burnt orange in Austin next year.
And getting Hicks doesn't make this the best defensive class "ever" for Florida. -
puffyisbackduane long says he's a buckeye.....i'm not so sure yet........
-
QuintOnly Jordan knows. hahahaha!!!! I've seen reports going every which way. . . except Florida, which is a good thing in my book.

I like what you say and I am not a person to sit here an ignore the stats. IMO I think he is the best....yes I know there are other greats but that is for a different topic....detectivegibbles wrote:

I would love to see Hicks as a Buckeye but I just don't see it, different things are just pointing he is going to become a Longhorn. -

darbypitcher22^^^^^
That's hilarious, I'm not gonna lie. He's gonna put the full court press on with the "I'd die for you" speech -
LeonardoWill the press conference be televised anywhere?
-
devil1197Hicks will inform all the coaches of his decision via phone call before the press conference tomorrow.
No one knows anything at the moment on his decision, this kid has kept it on lock down. All the predictions seem to be opinions based on, well nothing.
