Xavier Henry lead #1 Kansas to win in opener
-
Phog Allen#1 Kansas destroyed Hofstra 101-65 yesterday to open the season.
Sherron Collins was his normal dynamic self with 23 points but it was freshman stud Xavier Henry who stole the show with 5 3 pointers and a KU freshman record 27 points.
Hofstra tried to do what I assume many teams will do to KU and that is zone them to force the ball out of Cole Aldrich's hands. Cole took only 5 shots (making 4 of them) to end with 11 points and 8 boards. This is what I was talking about on the old huddle when I said Cole Aldrich may not be the national POY or 1st team AA but he is the national MVP for his team. So much attention was paid to Cole that Sherron, Xavier, Tyshawn Taylor and the countless other talented KU players were left with wide open shots.
Great start to the season for the Kansas Jayhawks but there is much work to be done before KU earns that #1 ranking that was given to them. KU has a monster non-conf. schedule with the likes of Michigan, Cal, and Tennessee coming up but there first big test is Tuesday against Memphis. Memphis may have lost Coach Cal but they still have a ton of talent and will challenge Kansas. The Jayhawks better be ready as I fully expect the Tigers to win C-USA and challenge Kansas.
ROCK CHALK KANSAS JAYHAWKS!!!!! -

Wins what? Their 1st round game in the NCAAs this year!LTrain23 wrote: Yes! Welcome aboard! It's going to be great to see you cry when UNC wins again
LOL! UNC is very talented and can beat anyone on any given night with that frontcourt depth. PG is a problem area. UNC may have a "down" year this year and have to settle for 25+ wins, a conf. title, and a sweet 16 like KU did last year.
Congrats on getting Barnes by the way as much as I hate to say that. -
slidepieceGood to see the Kansas basketball team beating up on somebody other than the Kansas football team
