they should have hired Dr. Lou

Good pickup... he has done well at ECU.

Terrific hire by South Florida. Skip Holtz is a good coach, one of the best rising coaches in college football in my opinion.

Not to change the subject, but does anyone not see him wanting to become Notre Dame's head coach in the future? He went to school at Notre Dame before his father arrived there, and played and coached under Lou too. A position at South Florida gives him the opportunity to develop recruiting inroads in the most fertile recruiting section of the country. Notre Dame will always have the kids from Chicago and Cincinnati that will want to come to Notre Dame. Adding a good coach in the future that has the ability to recruit southern Florida well would go a long way in my opinion.

Of course, Brian Kelly will have a twenty-year career and win multiple national titles :D, so this is moot.

    NOt really a suprise

Well since Kelly is young as well, and I see him having success there, I don't think he ever gets the opportunity to coach at ND.

I do think Holtz is a very good coach and think he will do really well at South Florida in time.

They will be the 2nd best team in Fla. before you know it. Some of us think they already are.

Tennessee dropped the wall, they should have hired him.

    ^Very true.

Great hire for USF. Skip will recruit like a mad man down in Florida. Under Leavitt, USF would lose a few games a year that they had no business losing due to a lack of discipline and fundamentals. Skip would bring this to the program. They will be scar good in a couple years with BJ Daniels QB'ing this team.

Great hire for USF. Can't wait to see where he can lead this team.
