    Happened back home in Minnesota:

No details have been revealed as of yet but there also seems to be a physical altercation he was involved in. Let's wait and see what happens but I doubt he gets suspended over this.

It only shows he must be a normal kid. No big deal there.

According to the article, the report came from University of Minnesota police.

Hopefully he can get things straightened out

i see no reason for the fighting, however, *all* 20 year olds drink so hopefully he just gets a slap on the rest for that.

He and a Gopher player and former high school teammate were out drinking; Floyd got in a fight w/ a guy at a party. Sounds like typical dumb college kid stuff.

I'm sure Brian Kelly will do nothing about this. ND is a holier than thou program and it's admistration and fans believe that their players don't do stuff like this. Floyd needs to be suspended for at least 3 games and not given some lame punishment like cleaning up the stadium or running extra laps. This is how it starts. If they don't bring the hammer down now many more ND players will follow in his footsteps. Now that I'm done having done at the expenses of Notre Dame fans this is not really a big deal. It may be a little more so at ND because I'm sure they have stricter student conduct policies for all students but this is nothing more than a 20 year old being a 20 year old. If he were driving I'd have different views but this is no big deal IMO.

What in God's name are you talking about? ND's Res Life is brutal and the only reason I say he will not get suspended for this is because it's a misdemeanor handled by another schools police force that happened hundreds of miles away. And yeah, a lot of ND's players do not do stuff like this because most of them are smart enough to know the ramifications involved when dealing with Res Life.

    I think he was joking.

^^^That's how I took it too.

Not a huge deal but just not smart. Whether it's at ND, OSU, UM, Florida or any other big time program....you're a high profile college athlete and you have to avoid situations like this. I know that just about all 20 year olds drink but don't get into a fight or put yourself in a situation where this type of stuff can happen either. I hope ND's Res Life doesn't hammer him too hard for this.

Did not use to be against the law when I was that age, and still should not be now.
  • slingshot4ever
He wasn't driving, so I wouldn't expect a gamer suspension or anything like that. Slap on the wrist.
  • karen lotz
Yeah two things going in his favor here. He wasn't driving and it occurred off campus when school was on a break. I'm not sure if Res Life would get involved at all?? Maybe athlete37 can give us some insight on that?? I'd have to say Kelly will have his way of punishing him after his talk about changing the players' outlook on what they are entitled to. He is trying to change the players perceptions of who they are and this would be a good opportunity to get his point across.

This is rediculous. Tonight a 20 yr old young man in fighting in Afganistan and Iraq. There is one in Haiti seriving in the Military and none of them can Buy a damn beer in the country they are serving. Does anyone else think this is moronic?

I can see the kid say coach "He said you didn't know what your were doing.lol So I punched him".

I waited until I was of age before I drank, but I completely agree with you.

If people got shocked by this they should see that he goes to a Catholic school nicknamed the "Fighting Irish." Me being an Irish Catholic, I would say this is par for the course! ;)

This amounts to a blip on the radar as far as I can figure, not much of a violation. Off-season, off-campus, during a break=no big deal. Dumb? yes.
  • Trueblue23
Not a big deal really, unless Floyd was being an ass and started a fight for no reason.. seems like there is always "that guy" at a party.

Floyd seems like a good kid though, hopefully this doesn't happen again.

I'm not for sure you read my whole post. :D

Rock is extremely sensitive on all topics involving ND.

You should know by now that you do NOT joke about ND. Completely unacceptable.
  • rock_knutne
^^^^^No more sensitive than the OSU fans.
  • ytownfootball
rock, I hate to disagree but...

You are by far the most reactionary poster on this OR the old site! LOL

You let absolutely nothing slide off your back...nothing
  • rock_knutne
^^^^What ever but I'm tame compared to some of the OSU fans on here.
  • ytownfootball
I don't know your age rock but you risk serious health issues if you allow the posters on one hand who you allow to rankle your ire as much as they do...honestly...were it not for your reactions, most of it would simply disappear.
  • rock_knutne
^^^^^^LOL, this is a GREAT stress reducer for me! Instead of taking it out on my clients, fellow workers and family, I vent right here through ND and the Steelers. Trust me, it works.
  • ytownfootball
I'd suggest owning and kicking a mid-sized dog in the back yard...much less transparency. ;)
