Tebow making huge impact on Senior Bowl ticket sales

Tebow.JPGAssociated PressFlorida quarterback Tim Tebow has boosted sales considerably in the past two days for the Senior Bowl. Since it was announced that the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner would play in the game, at least 3,000 tickets have been sold.
The Tim Tebow legend continues to grow.
With reports Saturday the former Florida quarterback will play in the Senior Bowl, the game's ticket office felt his power.
According to Senior Bowl public relations director Kevin McDermond, more than 1, 200 tickets were sold on Saturday, the most tickets sold in a single day in the game's history.
That was until Sunday.
That's when Tebow-mania struck again with the sale of 1, 800 tickets.
"It's amazing the affect that Tim Tebow has had on our ticket sales over the past 24 hours," Senior Bowl president and CEO Steve Hale said Sunday. "In my 16 years with the game, I have never seen a single player spark so much interest from our ticket buyers. We have reached record numbers since his announcement, and our staff is working overtime to fulfill the needs of college football fans.
"This is a true testament to the way college football fans feel about Tim's illustrious career."
Because of the demand for tickets, Senior Bowl ticket office officials remained open past 10 p.m. on Saturday and remained open past normal hours on Sunday as well.
"When word spread that Tim had accepted our invitation, the phone lines in our ticket office lit up," McDermond said. "We couldn't sell tickets fast enough. As soon as we'd hang up with a customer, the phone would ring again. We were still selling tickets at 10:15 at night, and we also noticed a dramatic increase in our online sales."
