Man you have to feel for Colt. He couldn't even throw the ball seven yards. How anybody can question is toughness after this is beyond me. -
Ironman92Awesome story. I was just getting ready to provide the link for the dumbasses that kept getting on Colt.
Go ahead.....read this and make fun of him now. -
Ironman92IF for whatever reason they would've televised this it would have been as tearful as the Redmond guy from England finishing the 400m during the Olympic finals with his Dad helping him walk the final 75 m.

That's the problem. Some people think that if they didn't see it, it didn't happen.Ironman92 wrote: IF for whatever reason they would've televised this it would have been as tearful as the Redmond guy from England finishing the 400m with his Dad helping him walk the final 75 m> -
QuintYou can't help but feel bad for him. . .
-
j_crazyyeah, he deserved so much better than this.

THE4RINGZI read the article on ESPN.com. Great article it did seem a little overly dramatic and a bit contrived, but I do feel bad for Colt. To not be able to perform on the biggest stage of that level of football really does suck for him.
I am not a Colt McCoy hater, but why does everyone seem to have such a hard on for him? No Heisman Trohpy, no National Championship, holds a few NCAA records, and played in a great system at Texas. Why does everyone treat him like he is the second coming of Johnny Unitas? Just curious. -
lhslep134That was one of the best articles I've read in a long time, content wise.
-
Ironman92Well, IMO he should have won the Heisman last year.
Heisman trophies, NCAA titles, NCAA records don'm nean a whole lot on Sundays.
I think he's an eency bit overrated....but a seemingly great kid that I'll definatley root for at the next level when he's not playing my team. -
sjmvsfscs08There's is little doubt in my mind that Texas would've won with him at the helm. Garrett Gilbert was able to keep it close.
-
darbypitcher22That really stinks for him.
Hopefully he tears it up for somebody on Sundays.
That Gilbert is going to be a good one. -
2kool4skoolI never cared one way or the other about McCoy, but he really won me over last night. There aren't many athletes who would have handled that question as well as he did. I'll be rooting for him on Sundays.
-
ironman02I'm not a Texas fan, although I have a great respect for the program, but Colt McCoy is 100% class. I started a thread last night about the situation that basically said you have to feel sorry that his career had to end that way. Colt has won more games as a starting QB in college football than anyone in history. That in itself makes him a great college football player. I don't think he's projected as a sure first rounder in the NFL draft, but I'd say he'll be selected by the end of Round 2, at least, and hopefully will have a successful career. Just a disappointing way to end his career, and I'm sure this will hurt for a long time, maybe forever. It has to be devastating to be so close to your goal and then have the chance to achieve it taken away from you.

I've seen a guy who could bench press 450 pounds be rendered unable to list a one-pound weight after a traumatic nerve injury.Elliot Stabler wrote: He d't try hard enough

A QB who can't throw is about as worthless as your opinion.Elliot Stabler wrote: He d't try hard enough

Another Internet tough guy...I'm sure you wouldn't have the sack to call McCoy a pussy to his face. I would love to see that encounter, though... -
WriterbuckeyeIgnore Elliot, he knows less about football than he does politics -- and that's saying something.
As for McCoy: the kid has been all class his time at Texas and he should have won the Heisman last year, in my opinion. For those who wonder if he's going to be a solid pro, we obviously won't know until he gets on the field.
But Archie Manning had a QB camp some time last summer, I believe, and said that McCoy was the QB out of this class who he felt had the highest NFL ceiling. That group included Tebow and Bradford. If I can find a link, I'll post it -- but it's been a while. -

Elliot StablerI'd call,McCoy,you, your mama and anyone else a pussy to their face if I felt they were one
McCoy should have fought a hell of alot harder to get back into the game -
ironman02What part of this is so hard to understand, Elliot?
When a QB tries to throw the ball, but can't because he CAN'T FEEL HIS ARM, how in the hell would he be able to play? What good would it do for Colt to go out there when he CAN'T THROW THE BALL?
Either you're saying this stuff just to piss people off, or you have no clue about anything. -
Elliot StablerI have a clue about something...he's a pussy
