One super regional match-up left to be completed today. The first batter singles to center with two on for Wake in the pick-up of yesterdays suspended game in the 5th with Wake up on Florida 5-4. The lead runner tries to score from 2nd and a great throw comes to the catcher as the runner comes in head first trying to reach out his left hand and tag the plate. The catcher's left foot is at least 3.5 feet over the foul side of the foul line before he gets the ball forcing the runner further out from the plate to get by him. The runner barely misses the plate with his hand and goes on past by a large amount and is easily tagged out once the catcher has the ball. Does college not have the rule you cannot block the plate without the ball? The video was reviewed and the out call was allowed to stand. Do they not have any home plate collision rules?
