    No jinx. Just no faith.
    Basically my thoughts as well.

For Carolina to win, I think they need to force Fox to be a jump shooter. He might make his fair share, but if he's driving to the rim all game, Carolina is done. Berry won't be able to stay in front of him with the bad ankle, so sagging off him a little makes even more sense.

Also, Pinson has to limit Monk. Theo was out last time they played, so hopefully he can affect Monk with his length and athleticism. Carolina's bigs need to stay out of foul trouble as well. IF all of that happens, then maybe Carolina can play well enough to win.

Bill Self now 2-7 in the elite 8. He was favored in all 7 of those losses. Ouch.

Losing a home game tonight is probably his worst elite 8 loss. Just awful preparation for this one.

Oh hell that is a bad stat.

Losing Boucher just made Oregon more athletic

Even worse: Kansas shoots 26% from three's in the elite 8.

Basically Self does a great job at getting to the elite 8, but never wins there.

He's the bob stoops of college bball.

We need Sean Miller and Bill Self to coach against each other in the Elite 8 to see whose team blows the game more.

    Elite recruiter, good coach

In Self's defense, he can't make the shots for them. Here is something that is tougher than SHIT to do as a coach... look at the defense he had his kids playing. That is 100% coaching, right there. To get your kids to buy into that, b/c that is not talent. That is will. Coaches get the shaft when teams underperform offensively, yet they don't get enough credit when their teams play their asses off defensively.

I think your last point is more applicable to Kentucky. If Bam gets in foul trouble they are extremely vulnerable in the paint.

    Go Cats.

Agree with that. That being said, he definitely has some in-game flaws. Look at last night, made NO adjustments with Bell. How many F'ing times did Kansas players go straight at Bell? And get swatted? It wasn't working, yet there were no adjustments to him. Frank Mason was the only good player on the court for Kansas, didn't take a shot for 10 min in the second half.

Bill Self is awesome and I obviously don't want him gone. But he definitely has his flaws. And they're usually exploited in the worst times (elite 8).

Even with Bam, they are vulnerable in the paint. UCLA scored at will the other night with Leaf, Welsh and Goloman. Bam did okay on the boards, but he wasn't close to the best big man in the game. UNC has 3 big guys who can match him. Rebounding is what concerns me most.

re: Bell - There are a lot of things you can't change on the fly. Some of these kids are performing things they have been doing their entire basketball lives. As a coach, it's not always as easy as saying "drive and kick." It's more on the preparation than it is the in-game adjustments, in my opinion. If Bell is doing that to you, then you didn't prepare for Bell effectively.

I disagree. You can certainly make in-game adjustments and say "stop fucking trying to dunk on Bell. It's not happening."

Obviously Mason, Jackson and Lucas are big losses. Kansas will have much better size next year assuming nobody leaves early of Azubuike, Bragg and Svi. Add Preston, and they will have many more options to combat what happened last night. Graham, Vick and Newman will still be one of the better back courts.

I think the key today is who Berry guards. If his ankle isn't 100% and he's on Fox or Monk, UK could exploit that. UNC with Berry in foul trouble is a totally different team.

UNC has the advantage inside and on the glass. If they can get Adebayo in foul trouble, they can crush Kentucky inside and on the offensive glass. That has been a huge UK weakness all season.

I'm not saying that you CAN'T. But it's not as "easy" as you want to make it sound.

Wtf are you talking about? I'm not saying I can. I'm saying bill Self can surely make adjustments around one defender on the court.

I wouldn't bet against South Carolina. Their defense has been great all year and they happen to be in a regional final against A) a familiar opponent and B) a bad offensive opponent. It will be an 80% Gamecock crowd at MSG too. For as much as they aren't a basketball school, their fan base knows a potential Final Four is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. For Florida, it's not that big of a deal.

I bet South Carolina +3 but I would take them straight up as well.

Love Frank Martin--hoping SC gets it done today

Rolling with the cocks, best scenario they both win and I have Kentucky to use in final 4

If Chris Silva shows up, UF has no answer for him. If he's invisible, not sure how Carolina will score outside of Thornwell and Dozier. He's the X-factor, IMO.
