Ironman92New Orleans coach just gave his team zero chance to win. You have to foul that last possession.
Question....say game clock would be at 4.1 when shot clock (which was at 3 and there was 7.1 seconds remaining in game) expired. If player releases the ball at 4.5 and ball hits rim...clock keeps running on a miss....what if the released shot does not hit rim? Clock automatically stops at 4.1 or officials stop play and get it to 4.1?
Could the player shoot a very very high arcing shot towards the rim and release at 4.5 and ball miss rim and get the clock a decent bit under 4.1?...probably nearer 1.0-1.5 by the time ball is rebounded and time out called? -

Yeah, gotta extend the game instead of leaving your team 2.6 seconds to go the length of the court.Ironman92;1841712 wrote:New Orleans coach just gave his team zero chance to win. You have to foul that last possession. -
ironman02By the way, that Thibodeaux dude for New Orleans went nuts. Got in his teammate's face, tried to choke him, and then screamed at the coach. Sat basically the last 10 minutes, which might have cost his team a win.

My guess without looking at any rules is that, if the ball is released before the clock expires, time should continue to run until someone touches the miss or it hits the ground.Ironman92;1841712 wrote:New Orleans coach just gave his team zero chance to win. You have to foul that last possession.

That was my initial thought while watching....take it down to 1 and shoot a shot from 25 feet away and shoot it pretty much high as you can but to not hit any cameras or anything in reach...go ahead and try to make it like a trick shot.GOONx19;1841722 wrote:My guess without looking at any rules is that, if the ball is released before the clock expires, time should continue to run until someone touches the miss or it hits the ground. -
Ironman92Filling out my bracket was weird. I think each person's bracket will look more similar to everyone else's than normal. Mine was pretty damn vanilla.

MulvaWake's defense is pathetic

Heretic
Wake was one of those teams that didn't really do anything to deserve being in, but got the "they're in a really good conference" bump that made their mediocre performance seem better than it actually was to the people in charge of things. And it showed last night.Mulva;1841753 wrote:Wake's defense is pathetic -

Mine wasn't. Four double-digits in the Sweet 16 and about 5-6 more winning in the first round. My main fear is that I've become so annoyed by ESPN's rampant ACC-blowing that my bias against them got a bit extreme, but that's life.Ironman92;1841737 wrote:Filling out my bracket was weird. ironman02ACC had 6 of the Sweet 16, 4 of the Elite 8, and 2 Final Four teams last year, plus the conference has several really good teams again this year. A lot (not all) of the ESPN love is deserved.

Oh, I agree with that. For me, it was the post-bracket-reveal ESPN show that featured 20 minutes of whining over Syracuse's mediocre ass not getting in, followed by half the studio predicting a Duke-UNC final. My Backlash Meter eventually blew up.ironman02;1841905 wrote:ACC had 6 of the Sweet 16, 4 of the Elite 8, and 2 Final Four teams last year, plus the conference has several really good teams again this year. SpockDuke over UCLA in my bracket. Kansas will be first 1 seed knocked

wildcats20Not filling out a bracket this year. But I think it's gonna be fairly chalky.

I did this last year and loved just enjoying the tournament.wildcats20;1841978 wrote:Not filling out a bracket this year. But I think it's gonna be fairly chalky.
I filled out a bracket on ESPN this year, but didn't enter one in any pools for money. Gonna just enjoy the madness again! -
Laley23I think UNC is gonna beat UC Davis by 100

In the Final Four? lolLaley23;1842050 wrote:I think UNC is gonna beat UC Davis by 100
UC Davis gets Kansas. -

The tournament is great either way. But last year was so much better IMO. Able to just watch(other than the player pick em) and not care who wins. Other than Carolina and whoever was playing Duke, of course.ironman02;1842046 wrote:I did this last year and loved just enjoying the tournament.

ironman02Providence led by 17 early in the 2nd half. They're now down 1 with 6 minutes and change to go.

Azubuike24Looking to throw some cash around on games. What bets does everyone like for the first 2 days?H
Headed to the gym shortly, got my first parlay down with Princeton/Notre Dame over 134, UNC Wilmington +265, West Virginia/Bucknell under 147.5 and Winthrop +11. -
Laley23I haven't looked at spreads or anything. But Winthrop +11 seems like a great value. I think they have about a 25% chance for a win.

IliketurtlesNKU/UK over 152.5, FGCU +11.5, Nevada +230 (Or just take them +6.5)
-
SportsAndLadyI like the Nevada ML.
-
SportsAndLadyAnyone off work? I have a work event until about 2 and then heading straight to a bar to watch. Off all day tomorrow.

I want to PayPal you money to throw on the Nevada ML for me, lol. They're my team this year, which probably means they'll lose by 15.Iliketurtles;1842191 wrote:NKU/UK over 152.5, FGCU +11.5, Nevada +230 (Or just take them +6.5)
