Rank the Conferences

The Big 10 did above average in Bowl games for a change. Always before, Big10 fans have said Bowl games don't mean much. Funny how that tune changes when fortunes change.

If Bama wins the SEC will have two BCS wins as well, and by much larger margins. Theres really no argument against the SEC being the best conference.

Im as big of a big 10 supporter as anyone, and i dont see how anyone can claim they are better than the sec this season. It does look like the SEC is starting to come down some (mainly Florida with all the players leaving + Meyer) and the big 10 is getting better.

I agree that the Big Ten is on the rise. but their middle and bottom teams still lack. Michigan should improve next year, but what about the rest?

Here is one team that I think is one the rise: Indiana.

I watched a few of their games last year and it seemed like they lost close games and just had bad breaks that didnt go their way. Their coach, whatever his name is, is pretty passionate about the team too.

But really though, what conference isnt defined by their top teams. The Big 10 took most of the criticism because of OSU. When you here SEC, you think of LSU, Bama, and Florida. And that conference is deemed the best because of the success they have had at the top.

Pat Fitzgerald has Northwestern headed in the right direction also.

    1. SEC
    2. Big 10
    3. Mountain West
    4. Big 12

    5. Pac 10
    6. Big East
    7. ACC

Could flip 3/4 and 5/6 as they're both up for argument. I think 1, 2, and 7 are all pretty widely agreed upon at this point.

I don't get why people want to discredit the Mountain West so much. They have 3 very good teams that can compete with the top 3 in any other conference. Air Force at #4 is a pretty good team. Wyoming and UNLV in the middle of the pack are not amazing, but UNLV did have a 2 point loss to Oregon State. People seem to love to point out how weak the bottom of their conference is, but Colorado State couldn't win a MWC game yet beat Colorado (Big XII) on the road.
