bases_loadedBig Ten beats the Pac 10 champion, ACC champion and the top 4 teams in the conference won bowl games. The Big Ten was underdogs in every game and covered in 6 of the 7 games. With Iowa, Wisky, and Ohio State all young will the next few years see the Big Ten return to greatness?
-
mallymal614Don't forget Penn State.
-
bases_loadedPenn State will be breaking in a new QB, but they are always good.
-
LJBeat the #15, #12, #9 and #7 teams
-
devil1197The B10 will be very good next season.
They should have at least two teams in the Top 10 and 3 in the Top 15 heading into next season. -
ironman02Ohio State 26 - Oregon 17
Penn State 19 - LSU 17
Iowa 24 - Georgia Tech 14
Wisconsin 20 - Miami (FL) 14
Auburn 38 - Northwestern 35 (OT)
Iowa State 14 - Minnesota 13
Texas Tech 41 - Michigan State 31
4 wins and 3 losses. I'll take it, especially since the Top 4 teams in the conference all won. -
mallymal614This makes the Northwestern game hurt more. They had Auburn on the ropes.
-
2quik4u3 losses and you consider this a win for the Big Ten lol, the standards have fallen
-

Same with Minnesota. With 4 minutes left they had the ball on the Iowa State 18 or so, and fumbled.mallymal614 wrote: This makes the Northwestern game hurt more. They had Auburn on the ropes. -

They were UNDERDOGS in EVERY game. COVERED in 6 of the 7. The one they didn't, had 12 starters suspended. The top 4 teams won. They beat 2 conference champions. Standards have not fallen douchebag.2quik4u wrote: 3 losses and you consider this a win for the Big Ten lol, the standards have fallen -

2 BCS wins and 2 other wins against Top 15 teams.2quik4u wrote: 3 losses and you consider this a win for the Big Ten lol, the standards have fallen
A 1 point loss and another loss in OT. MSU only got beat by 10 without half of their playmakers. -
ts1227Suck it media?
They have been saying it all along leading up to this game that an Iowa win would definitely show that the Big Ten's fortunes are turning.
They also were rightly critical when the Big Ten sucked in bowls the past few years.
What do you want them to do? The national media isn't Channel 10 with Dom Tiberi reporting with Jim Tressel's sack draped across his face. -
MulvaIf it wasn't obvious already, I think it's pretty evident now that the Big 10 is at least better than the ACC.
Although looking at the ACC's record in BCS games should have already told most people that. -
DaBrowns41I think this thread should be titled: "SUCK IT MARK MAY".
May always gets embarrassed every year in most of his picks. It's too bad ESPN pays this guy, and not me. -

PrescottGood bowl season for the Big 10. The top teams won and that is what is most important.
Remember that Bowl games are all about match ups and this year, unlike last year, the Big 10 got some favorable treatment. -
Cleveland BuckThe Big Ten played up in 3 of their 7 bowls, which is about par for the course. The difference is the Big Ten teams were better this year. They played better and prepared better.
-
LJ
Did any other conference have 4 bowl wins over 4 top 15 teams?2quik4u wrote: 3 losses and you consider this a win for the Big Ten lol, the standards have fallen -
SQ_CraziesThis is the bottom line:
Every year is a new year--whatever happened last year doesn't matter and it never has in a new season. Conference all-time bowl records, BCS records and all that are all BS. The media gets too caught up in all that happy horse shit and the most pathetic part of the whole equation is how many fans (a lot of examples on sites like this) buy into the media BS. It's just something for them to talk about, but it isn't any more relevant than talking about what color the inside of your shoes are. Take it for what it is. -

Ill take that as you have nothing to add to the conversation.2quik4u wrote:

Not one analyst on ESPN picked Ohio State or Wisconsin to win. Penn State was supposed to get rolled and Iowa was a 4 point underdog. So yes SUCK IT mediats1227 wrote: Suck it media?

ESPN reports the Big Ten is first conference to record 4 bowl victories over top 15 ranked opponents in the BCS era.LJ wrote: Beat the #15, #12, #9 and #7 teams
Maybe that'll squelch the "Big Ten Sucks" media and internet message board onslaught for a while. You think? Well...probably not! -

2quik4uThey are better then big 12 and pac 10 but no one touches the sec
-
LJThe SEC can finish with at MOST, 2 wins over ranked teams
The ACC finished with 1 and that was #16 WVU
The Pac 10 finished with 0
The Big East finished with 0
The Big Ten finished with 4
The Big 12 can finish with at most 3
